Engineer – Renewable Energy Projects (Zambia)
We are ‘Vidullanka PLC’, a multinational renewable energy company based in Sri Lanka. As a champion for greener and cleaner ways to conduct our business, we are currently engaged in the development of several Hydro-power, and Solar power projects in Zambia, and we are seeking a technically proficient engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background and the acumen to contribute effectively to the development and execution of renewable energy projects.
Key Responsbilities

Coordinate with government authorities in relatation to obtaining approvals for the projects under development.

Represent the company in meetings with the authorities.

Coordinating work for project development.

Identification and evaluation of potential project sites, considering technical, environmental, and regulatory factors.

Collaborate closely with various departments and stakeholders, including electricity regulatory authorities, environmental bodies, and land-owners during the project development phase.

Utilize technical expertise to monitor project progress, assess risks, and ensure adherence to industry standards and local regulations throughout all project phases.

Support the development of detailed technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and procurement plans, to facilitate project implementation.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably electrical) or power and energy.

Minimum 2 years of experience in the power and energy sector is preferred.

Strong technical skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Excellent communication & negotiation skills.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Knowledge of Zambian labour laws, industrial and local regulations, and standards in the renewable energy sector.

Ability to consult on and navigate regulatory and compliance issues in Zambia.
