Job description:
General Role Purpose:
The role will provide support to the drill & blast technical department and participate in the implementation of Drill & Blast Management systems, execution of drill & blast designs and initiation designs, mine planning and data analysis and reporting.
Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables:

Take a leading role in respecting and complying with the health, safety and environmental practices of the organisation.

Design, plan, monitor and report on all Drill & Blast activities to ensure a productive and efficient mining operation.

Coordinate and provide drill & blast designs and initiation designs according to site standards and requirements.

Assist with development of short and medium term drill & blast bench master plans and designs.

Assist with continuous improvement projects in drill & blast including monitoring and reporting of data from various systems including but not limited to drill management, fragmentation, environmental monitoring and QA/QC.

Contributions to the daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports.

Develop a sense of continuous improvement, seek to streamline drill and blast process to increase productivity, quality and compliance.

Perform other related duties as and when required.

Operational Requirements:

This position is based on-site and will be focused on delivering drill and blast planning, design, data analysis and reporting.

Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements.
Environmental Responsibilities:
-
Comply with current, regional environmental regulations.

Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.

Comply with the provisions of the Mine Sites Environmental Management System.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
-
BSc Degree or higher in Engineering (Mining, Civil or Mechanical), Geology, Geotechnical or equivalent.

More than 2 years’ experience in Drill & Blast technical roles.

More than 5 years’ experience in mining, metallurgy or mineral processing industry or similar relevant experience.

Computer skills include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project) and basic skills with blast design software, mine planning and mine design software.

Valid driver’s license
