Maamba Energy Limited (MEL), a company co-owned by Nava Bharat Singapore Pte. Limited and ZCCM-IH Plc., operates a large-scale coal mine and a 300 MW coal-fired power plant in Zambia. The company is seeking to hire a dynamic Estates Coordinator to join their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Department.

Job Purpose:
The Estates Coordinator will support the Head of CSR in delivering the Estates Strategy and ensuring proper estate management for Maamba Energy. The role focuses on managing estates, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and integrating CSR activities to enhance the company’s image.
Key Responsibilities:
Estates Management:

Prevent encroachment in mining lease areas.

Serve as the primary contact for operational premises and provide expert advice.

Build strong relationships with site personnel and develop an in-depth understanding of assets.
-
Develop site development plans and maintenance schedules to ensure building standards.
-
Plan and schedule works from audits, ensuring timely completion of remedial actions.

Oversee contractor checks, pre-works arrangements, and the implementation of estate management software.

Manage major building projects, liaising with contractors and consultants as needed.

Conduct audits for soft services and participate in contract management meetings.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):

Assist in community relations and coordinate CSR activities to build and maintain the company’s image.

Raise awareness about the company’s social responsibility commitments in collaboration with marketing and PR teams.

Develop and implement ethical strategies and ensure socially responsible operations.

Manage stakeholder relationships and monitor CSR initiatives’ effectiveness.
Budget Management:
-
Prepare and manage the estates budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

Monitor financial activities to ensure they stay within budget.
-
Provide regular financial reports to the Head of CSR.
Contract Management:
-
Manage contracts with external service providers for maintenance, cleaning, and security services.

Ensure that services are delivered to high standards in compliance with agreements.

Conduct regular performance reviews of contractors.
Qualifications:
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree or university education in Real Estate Management, Urban Planning, or Business Management.
Experience:
-
Proven experience in estate or facilities management, preferably in a mining or industrial environment.

10-15 years of experience in estate/CSR management in a mining environment.

Ability to work effectively without supervision while managing time well.

Experience with health & safety management and land acquisition processing.
