A prominent player in Zambia’s mining sector, is seeking an experienced Mining Engineer with at least a decade of expertise in both underground and surface mining operations to become a valuable addition to their dynamic team. The ideal candidate should possess a proven record in successful project management, demonstrating expertise in overcoming various mining challenges, a comprehensive understanding of mining regulations in Zambia, and experience working as an expatriate in diverse cultural settings.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• Datamine & Surpack experience; and any other mining software experience
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the mining industry.
• Strong background in both underground and surface mining operations.
• Extensive knowledge of mining regulations in Zambia.
• Proven experience working as an expatriate in diverse cultural settings.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Oversee and manage mining projects, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize mining operations, enhance productivity, and maximize resource utilization.
• Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance on mining methods, equipment selection, and ore extraction processes.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of local and international mining regulations, ensuring full compliance in all operations.
• Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and mining professionals.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Foster positive relationships with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and sustainable development.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to mining operations, equipment, and personnel safety.
• Budget Oversight: Manage and optimize budgets for mining projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation.
