Job Description
Our client, a Global Agricultural company, is seeking a skilled Field Equipment Operator to join their dynamic agricultural team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various field equipment used in crop production and land management. This role is vital to ensuring that agricultural operations run smoothly and that fieldwork is executed with precision.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate farm equipment such as tractors, harvesters, and tillers for various agricultural tasks, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.

Conduct routine pre-and-post inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.

Monitor field conditions and make adjustments to equipment operation as necessary to optimize performance.

Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and other team members.

Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance performed, and crop yields.

Assist in the development and execution of work plans in conjunction with farm management and other operators.

Participate in harvest operations as required and assist in other farm tasks when needed.

Manage the maintenance of equipment; including the management of spares and tools.

Adhere to specific operating procedures for all field equipment according ISO 9001:2015 and ISO45001 standards.

Support ESH efforts by providing assistance and arranging for resources to promote and comply with safety standards in all operations, complying with Company standards and ISO.

Report any malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns related to the equipment to management.
Requirements

A minimum of Full Grade 12 Certificate.

3 years practical / hands on experience operating field equipment for farming activities in an agricultural environment is essential.

Knowledge of agricultural operations and familiarity with irrigation systems is an advantage.

Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform maintenance on agricultural equipment.

Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends during the planting and harvest seasons.

Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.

Valid driver’s license, preferably with the ability to operate heavy machinery / agricultural equipment.

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards work.
