Finance and Administration Officer
Women’s Life and Wellness Foundation (WLWF) is a non-governmental organization advocates for reproductive health and rights, social justice, women’s rights and climate justice for the poor rural and urban communities. WLWF is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to take up the position of Finance and Administration Officer (FAO) reporting to the Executive Director.
Duties and Responsibilities
i. Providing adequate and timely financial and administrative advice to Management and the Board;
ii. Managing an efficient and effective financial and administrative systems of the organization, while maintaining reliable accounting records through ensuring the accurate recording of all financial transactions of the organization and processing them in the accounting package in use
iii. Development, review and implementation of financial accounting policies, procedures and internal controls;
iv. Development of organizational and project budgets, in consultation with other staff;
v. Managing timely disbursement of funds and retirements while coordinating cash flow and bank activities to ensure funds are readily accessible, avoiding overdrafts, and optimizing transfers to prevent budgetary deficits.
vi. Maintaining reliable accounting records by ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions of the organization and processing in the accounting package in use,
vii. Managing the payroll system of the organization;
viii. Performing various financial tasks including preparing bank reconciliation statements, monitoring budget implementation, identifying budget deviations, and taking timely corrective actions.
ix. Monitoring the use of funds sub-granted to community projects and review reports on such funds;
x. Preparing timely periodic organizational and donor project financial reports to facilitate the successful completion of organizational audits and ensure accountability.
xi. Producing financial statements, financial narrative and liquidation reports for all organizational funds;
xii. Preservation of accounting records and timely provision of accounting information as may be required by the Board and the management team;
xiii. Administration of the transport policy so that procurement, utilization and disposal of vehicles is carried out efficiently, effectively and economically;
xiv. Managing day to day logistical arrangements including use of organizational vehicles
xv. Managing and updating the organizations’ fixed assets register by ensuring that all transactions relating to fixed assets are appropriately processed;
xvi. Preparing timely periodic organizational and donor project financial reports to facilitate the successful completion of organizational audits and ensure accountability.”
xvii. Undertaking timely training needs assessments in order to facilitate preparation of relevant training programmes for staff and members;
xviii. Supervising the finance and administration staff both at the National Secretariat and the district branches;
xix. Monitoring and ensuring the implementation of organizational policies;
xx. Performing any other responsibilities delegated by the Executive Director.
