JOB OPPORTUNITY

A compelling job opportunity has emerged with a well-established national private sector umbrella organization – The Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI).

JOB SUMMARY

FINANCE and ADMINISTRATION OFFICER.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the job holder will be responsible for all finance and accounting as well as administration matters for the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI).

Finance duties

1. The job holder will oversee all financial aspects of ZACCI and manage the flow of financial information to the CEO, President and the Board or wherever required as per ZACCI policies;
2. Design, develop and update financial, procurement and administrative policies and procedures;
3. Ensure that the finance and administration unit comply with laid down policies, procedures and regulations;
4. Ensure that all operational services are audited for their efficiency and effectiveness on a regular basis, and that suitable risk management arrangements are established;
5. Co-ordinate the annual audit and follow-up on recommendations and action points raised by auditors;
6. Facilitate budget preparation, approval, and execution of and adequate budget control practices that will ensure the Chamber spend within the budgetary provisions;
7. Manage advanced forecasting techniques to ensure the Chamber has the level of cash on hand to ensure the Chamber its meets periodic need be it daily, weekly and hamber its meets per monthly;
8. Develop and maintain sound reporting systems to facilitate effective financial management and effective internal control mechanisms in adherence to statutory and fiscal requirements.

Payroll and Administrative duties

1. Oversee the timely and accurate processing of monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with Zambian labour laws and organizational policies
2. Manage all aspects of employee records, benefits, and compensation packages.

3. Undertake procurements and initiate timely payments for contracts entered into by ZACCI for service and/or products;

4. Prepare job descriptions for support staff and manage their performance accordingly;
5. Provide a conducive and safe work environment for all staff by ensuring they have the requisite furniture, equipment and supplies;
6. Ensure the safe custody and security of all organisations’ assets including vital records (purchase contracts, proof of ownership documents, after sale service contracts etc.)
7. Develop a fixed asset register as well as maintain an efficient and updated filling and archiving system.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. Grade 12 Certificate;
2. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accountancy or Chartered Accountant (ACCA); Masters/MBA a plus.
3. A member of an internationally recognized professional accounting body such as, ZICA, ACCA, CIMA etc.
4. Must be Familiar with accounting

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3 years of demonstrated sound and in-depth knowledge of Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Management, Zambia regulations and compliance standards.
