Job Description
Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce is the largest Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVET) Institution under the Ministry of Technology and Science. The institution is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions:
1.0 FINANCE DEPARTMENT
1.1 FINANCE MANAGER x 01
(The position reports to the Principal of the College)
Main Duties
-
Manage effectively and efficiently, all financial aspects of the Institution including strategic direction.

Manages effectively the collection of revenue in order to fund the operations of the college
-
Manages timely and accurately consolidation of budget estimates in order to facilitate mobilization of financial resources
-
Manages timely and accurately preparation and submission of Financial and Management reports in order to facilitate decision
-
Manages effectively for Management and the Board Books of Accounts in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information
-
Ensures adherence to professional, ethical, financial and accounting standards by all accounting staff.

Ensures that there is compliance with regulatory reporting requirements
-
Manages and coordinates effectively preparation of section and individual work plans in order to facilitate monitoring and evaluation of performance
-
Manages effectively the utilization of the human resource in the Finance Department in order to ensure effective and efficient operations.

Implementation of internal controls in the management of College finances
-
Timely compilation of all the required documentation for the presentation of audited financial statements and for Auditor General.

Prudent management of assets and liabilities of the College.

Optimum utilisation of liquid resources of the College.
Minimum Qualifications/Attributes
-
Full Form VI Grade 12 Certificate
-
Full ACCA, CA ZAMBIA and CIMA
-
Bachelor Degree in Accountancy from a reputable University
-
Master’s Degree in Accountancy and/or equivalent added advantage
-
Fully Paid up member of ZICA either Fellow or Associate member
-
At least 5 years work experience in a similar supervisory position

Should possess exceptional financial and analytical skills and should be highly professional in the execution of duties.

Demonstrable Leadership skills, confidentiality, integrity and sound negotiating skills.

Demonstrable communication & interpersonal skills and the ability to work and lead teams in a large and complex settings.

Computer literacy and Knowledge of Accounting Packages such as Pastel will be an added advantage.

Proficiency in International accounting standards or IFRS.

Practical knowledge of an ERP or Accounting packages.

Ability to work with minimum Supervision

A team player, good organizer.
