About the Project:
FZS Zambia (FZS-ZM) has a rich history of conservation, having been actively involved in the preservation of the North Luangwa Ecosystem since 1986 and the Nsumbu-Tanganyika region since 2017. Our mission at FZS-ZM is to bridge the connection between livelihoods and landscapes through conservation and enhancement efforts. We are dedicated to continuously expanding our initiatives, broadening both our geographical reach and thematic focus. These endeavours are made possible through FZS core funding, international government partners, and the contributions of private donors.
1. Job Purpose
FZS is seeking an energetic Financial Accountant to be based in North Luangwa National Park, Mpika. S/he will be responsible for all bookkeeping, accounting, and supporting financial administration of Frankfurt Zoological Society, Zambia sub-office and its associated activities.
2. Reporting
The Financial Accountant will report to the Head of Finance and Administration on a line function basis and to the Project Administration Manager on a daily operational basis.
3. Key responsibilities
These will include:
3.1 Cash Control/Accounts Payable
3.2 Staff Imprests/Expenses/Loans
3.3 Accounts Receivable
3.4 Stores and stock control
3.5 Month-End Tasks, Reporting and Recording
4. Required Qualifications and Experience
-
Degree in Accounting, Licentiate Level of ZICA/ACCA
-
Experience working with NGOs and donor-funded project activities is advantageous
-
5+ years’ experience
-
Experience with computer software (including accounting software)
-
Fluent written and spoken English
-
Organised and ability to be able to prioritise
-
Ability to demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail, accuracy and integrity

Willingness to work in remote areas with limited access to amenities

Willingness to work with a multicultural team

Show high flexibility and willingness to carry out other support duties as requested by management, thereby ensuring the efficient running of project activities
