Job Vacancy: Fisheries Officer

Job Description:

Apex is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Fisheries Officer to manage and protect fishery resources. The Fisheries Officer will be responsible for implementing fishery management plans and ensuring sustainable fishing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement fishery management plans and policies.
• Conduct research and surveys to monitor fish populations and habitats.
• Collaborate with local communities, fishermen, and other stakeholders.
• Educate the public on sustainable fishing practices and conservation.
• Enforce fishery regulations and conduct inspections.
• Prepare reports and proposals on fishery management and conservation.
• Promote aquaculture and sustainable fish farming practices.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Fisheries Officer or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of fishery management and conservation principles.
• Excellent research and analytical skills.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Skills:

• Proficiency in fishery management software and tools.
• Strong communication and project management abilities.
• Passion for marine conservation and sustainability.

Experience:

• At least 3-5 years of experience in fishery management.
