Position Summary:
The Gender Specialist will work closely with the rest of the team (Policy Lead, MEL Director, among others) to advance gender equality within the Project. The Specialist will focus on addressing gender-specific hurdles in the Zambian business enabling environment, promoting women’s empowerment, and fostering equitable practices to create a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide technical guidance, resources, and tools on integrating gender, inclusive development, and conflict sensitivity in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of BEP activities.

Key Position Competencies and Experience:

Minimum five (5) years of experience encompassing international development, research, and evaluation, and program management required.

Experience presenting technical content or thought stewardship to external audiences, such as through conference presentations, workshops, webinars, white papers, or journal articles required.

Minimum five (5) years of experience working as in a role focused on gender inclusivity with a strong understanding of gender equality and women’s rights issues, including in-depth knowledge of gender, equality, and social inclusion (GESI) analysis methodologies.

Experience in working with women in businesses, preferably trade, agriculture, tourism and/or renewable energy in relation to gender mainstreaming the business enabling environment, is an advantage.
