Job Purpose

The General Manager will be accountable for the development and implementation of Fintech growth strategies including sales improvement and client relationship management, targeted at new sales and partnerships to achieve aggressive quarterly and annual projections/targets. Provide strategic leadership, operational excellence, stakeholder engagement, team empowerment, and ensuring compliance, ultimately contributing to company’s success, market share expansion, and sustainable development in Zambia and beyond. Drive the prioritization and roadmap planning process for Fintech products, based on a thorough understanding of market needs, customer feedback, and competitive analysis. Oversee and facilitate the transition of Fintech products from concept to implementation, including product launch planning, user training, and ongoing support.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

• Drive profitable growth and establish the company as a leading player in the Fintech market
• Managing the daily operations and revenue generation of the business and ensuring its continual growth
• Effectively communicate strategic shifts, manage any resistance, and ensure that the entire Sales, BD and Service Delivery teams are aligned with company’s vision and objectives.
• Define and execute local strategies, assuming end to end responsibilities for country PnL.
• Define the overall strategy from launch to scale, including long-term goals, develop and implement scalable and efficient strategies to ensure both consistent results and exponential growth.
• Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training high-performing employees to achieve sales, profitability, market share, and business plan objectives.
• Set and monitor performance metrics for the designated country, driving pipeline & revenue growth, profitability, and market share
• Develop and execute financial plans, analyse results, and adapt strategies to achieve sustainable success
• Develop and implement business improvement and innovative strategies according to company goals and objectives to accelerate growth.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the Board of Directors, investors, customers, and other key stakeholders.
• Actively nurture and develop active partnerships to maximize value for the business
• Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.).
• Identify new business opportunities and manage marketing efforts
• Act to acquire new customers and manage existing customers
• Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders
• Work with Senior Managers to monitor performance of business activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
• Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring
• Mentor and develop staff using supportive and collaborative approach by assigning accountabilities, setting objectives, establishing priorities and monitoring and evaluating results.
• Drive a culture of excellence, high performance and continuous improvement.
• Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements as mandated by the Bank of Zambia.
• Stay abreast of local regulatory requirements and ensure that company’s operations in the designated country comply with all relevant laws and regulations. Proactively engage with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary licenses and approvals.
• Promote company’s Fintech solutions, share thought leadership, and enhance reputation in the local market.
• Provide strong leadership and direction to the Business Development, Sales and in country customer experience teams, fostering a high -performance culture, setting clear objectives, and empowering team members to excel in their roles.
• Create a collaborative and motivating work environment that encourages innovation, customer success and professional development.
