Job Purpose

The General Manager will be accountable for the development and implementation of Fintech growth strategies including sales improvement and client relationship management, targeted at new sales and partnerships to achieve aggressive quarterly and annual projections/targets. Provide strategic leadership, operational excellence, stakeholder engagement, team empowerment, and ensuring compliance, ultimately contributing to company’s success, market share expansion, and sustainable development in Zambia and beyond. Drive the prioritization and roadmap planning process for Fintech products, based on a thorough understanding of market needs, customer feedback, and competitive analysis. Oversee and facilitate the transition of Fintech products from concept to implementation, including product launch planning, user training, and ongoing support.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • An MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in the financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the fintech sector.
  • Must have previous experience as a CEO, General Manager, Country Manager or Senior Manager position within the Fintech environment/sector
  • Must have experience in sales and marketing or financial services in B2B cross-border payments, money transfer and mobile money
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements, particularly those mandated by the Bank of Zambia.
  • Proven track record of successful strategic leadership and operational management.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • With a very young and energetic team, the role requires someone with leadership skills who is able to build, develop and motivate a team.
  • Must have access to a large network of local decision-makers within Corporates / Fintech’s / Banks/Telecoms
