Job Description:
We are looking for a hands-on and experienced General Manager to lead the operations of our travel agency. This role requires someone with strong leadership, sales, and operational skills to manage the day-to-day business and drive growth. The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of the Zambian travel industry and a proven ability to deliver excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations of the travel agency, ensuring smooth service delivery.

Lead corporate travel sales and participate in tender bids for travel management contracts.

Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, embassies, hotels, and clients.

Handle travel bookings, quotations, and itinerary planning where necessary.

Monitor sales performance, manage budgets, and ensure profitability.

Supervise and support a small team of travel consultants and support staff.

Ensure effective use of GDS platforms (e.g. Galileo or Amadeus) and maintain up-to-date travel knowledge.

Stay informed about visa requirements, travel restrictions, and insurance options.
Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Travel & Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the travel industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Proficiency in GDS platforms such as Galileo or Amadeus.

Experience in corporate travel services and tender processes.

Strong organizational, financial management, and customer service skills.

Ability to work in a small team and take initiative in driving business growth.
