MECHANIC X8

Personal Requirements:

1. EIZ Certificate

2. Full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.

3. Certification or diploma in Heavy Equipment Repair, Heavy Duty Mechanics or a related

Field.

4. Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic or equivalent.

5. Familiarity with mining safety regulations and protocols.

6. Ability to work independently or collaboratively in the dynamic and demanding

Environment of an open pit mine.

7. Valid Silicosis

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Componentize mobile mining equipment including Volvo A40F, EC290, EC700,

Leibherr: 754, PR744, Komatsu; D155, D275, WA380, GD675, CAT 740B, 140H,

BOMAG; BW212, 219D Water Truck and other heavy equipment.

2. Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance in addition to minor and major

Mechanical repairs to all mobile equipment.

3. Evaluate work to be performed and apply correct procedures and make appropriate safety

Arrangements before executing tasks.

4. as work may be performed in the working area of the mine as part of a breakdown crew,

A risk assessment will be undertaken prior to work starting and appropriate safety controls

Put in place.

5. Complete a post work inspection on units that have been repaired to ensure appropriate

Safety standards are met.
