Itezhi Tezhi Power Corporation Limited (ITPC) is a Joint Venture Company owned by ZESCO Limited and The TATA Power Company Limited that built, owns, and operates the 120 Mega Watt Hydro Power Station on the Itezhi Tezhi Dam of the Kafue River in Itezhi Tezhi District.
The Company seeks to recruit suitably qualified persons to fill up the following positions:
1.0 HEAD-HUMAN CAPITAL AND DEVELOPMENT – SALARY GRADE IT 3 (ONE POSITION-ITEZHI TEZHI)
Reports to: Power Station Manager
Job Purpose
To formulate, and co-ordinate implementation of sound, efficient and effective Human Capital policies aiming to achieve ITPC objectives.
To carry out strategic planning related to staffing and development of employees, and effectively managing employee relations to foster a productive and inclusive work atmosphere
Duties and Principal Accountabilities

Develop and implement human capital policies and initiatives aligned with overall business strategy of the organization.

Plan, co-ordinate, supervise and effectively monitor correct application of the conditions of service and ensure that the understanding is same for all employees.

Plan, coordinate and monitor recruitment of employees and ensure that the process is carried out according to company laid down procedures.

Oversee and manage the Performance Management System in a time bound manner to achieve organizational goals.

Process VISA and permit applications for expatriate employees and ensure that their stay at ITPC complies with legal requirements in Zambia.

Advise and provide guidance to line managers on Disciplinary Policies and Procedures to ensure that employees comply with the rules, regulations, procedures, and work instructions.

Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or any other work related issue.

Process leave applications as per provisions in the conditions of service

Maintain employee movement records for purposes of manpower audits, utilization and succession planning.

Advise line Managers on Training Policy Procedures.

Train and develop ITPC employees in line with human capital development policies through on-the-job training, local and foreign training.

Maintain training records for use in performance assessments.

Prepare and effectively monitor annual budget for Human Capital and Development, and ensure that all expenditure falls within approved budget for the department.

Timely provide all inputs related to employee remuneration to the Finance department for payroll processing.

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports incorporating own recommendations to Management for its appropriate and timely interventions.
Knowledge and Skills
-
Full Grade 12 Certificate
-
Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management.

Master Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration will be an added advantage.

Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management
-
Ten (10) years post-qualifying experience in Human Capital & Development work, five (05) of which must be in a Senior Management position.

Communication Skills:
Writing: Ability to write clearly and produce accurate reports
Oral: Ability to express oneself fluently in English and local languages

Proficiency in Microsoft word, excel, power point and other new Microsoft tools.

Experience in application of Human Capital Enterprise Resource Planning modules

Must be in possession of a valid manual driving license of not less than 2 years old
