The University of Ndola is a Proposed University established to operate in the City of Ndola right in the Central Business District along Buteko Avenue Opposite Savoy Hotel. The Ndola University (Proposed) is a yet to be registered Higher Learning Institution with the Higher Education Authority (HEA) as a Private University College mandated to train students in various Diplomas and Degree programmes. As it rolls out its presence on the Copperbelt and beyond, The Ndola University (TUN) (Proposed) has embarked on recruitment of critical staff of high caliber to fill vacant positions. Applications are now invited from suitably qualified individuals for possible appointment at the University.

HEAD OF DEPARTMENT 2 Positions

(a) CLINICAL SCIENCES

(b) NURSING SCIENCES

JOB PURPOSE

To provide strong academic leadership in the department and take a leader in ensuring the curricula are always relevant and regularly checking on academic staff performance to ensure quality assurance compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leading managing and developing the department to ensure it achieve the highest possible standards of excellence in all its academic activities.
• Overseeing the smooth functioning of the departmeut and ensuring consistent
  provision of academic ambiance and managing and motivating all departmental staff
• Developing the curricula to keep up to date with relevant changes and to encourage a wide range of activities to lean the subject with practical skills.
• Implementing university policies, procedures and best practices in accordance with the expectation of the department
• Collaborating with other stall’ in the development and continual improvement of the touching and learning programs to ensure the best learning outcomes for all students.
• Ensuring quality assurance in both teaching and examination in accordance with the vision of the university at the same time supervising and conducting research

Qualification and Experience & Skills

The University seeks an individual with:

(a) HEAD OF DEPARTMENT FOR CLINICAL SCIENCES

• Grade twelve (12) Certificate with 50 Tevels which must include English Language and Mathematics Bachelor of Science in Medicine and Surgery
• Master of Master of Medicine
• Larned Doctor of Philosophy degree in Medical Sciences is an added advantage
• Must provide proof of valid membership to a professional body
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

(b) HEAD OF DEPARTMENT FOR NURSING SCIENCES

• Grade twelve (12) Certificate with 5 O’Levels which must include English Language and Mathematics Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Midwifery
• Master of Science in Nursing Sciences
• Earned Doctor of Philosophy degree in Nursing is an added advantage
• Must provide proof of Valid membership to a professional body
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
