A distinguished entity in Zambia’s mining industry, is currently seeking a seasoned & accomplished Head of Geotech Engineering with a minimum of 15 years’ work experience, to elevate their geotechnical team. The ideal candidate, will have a proven track record, as a Local Zambian candidate in Zambia or as an expatriate in Africa,, demonstrating leadership, innovation, and a deep understanding of geotechnical challenges in mining operations

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering within the mining industry.

Datamine & Surpack experience; and any other mining software experience

Proven leadership experience, with a track record of successfully managing geotechnical teams.

Extensive knowledge of geotechnical challenges in mining operations.

Previous experience working in Zambia or as an expatriate, demonstrating adaptability to diverse work environments.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Responsibilities:

Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the geotechnical engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Geotechnical Analysis: Oversee comprehensive geotechnical assessments to ensure the stability and integrity of mining infrastructure.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate geotechnical risks, developing proactive measures to enhance safety and operational efficiency.

Technical Innovation: Lead the implementation of cutting-edge geotechnical technologies and practices to optimize mining operations.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mining engineers and environmental specialists, to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall mine planning.

Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of local and international geotechnical regulations, ensuring compliance in all operations.
