Role Description Overview

This is a full-time on-site role as the Head of the Department. As the Head of Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Nursing department, developing and implementing strategic plans, and ensuring the quality of our nursing programs. You will also be involved in mentoring, providing leadership to faculty and students, and ensuring the integration of theoretical knowledge with clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Academic Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of the nursing curriculum, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Faculty Supervision: Oversee and support nursing faculty, conduct performance evaluations, and foster professional development.
  • Clinical Coordination: Liaise with healthcare facilities to arrange clinical placements, ensuring students gain practical experience in diverse healthcare settings.
  • Student Guidance: Provide mentorship and guidance to nursing students, fostering a supportive learning environment and ensuring their academic success.
  • Program Evaluation: Continuously evaluate the nursing program’s effectiveness, making recommendations for improvements and enhancements.
  • Collaboration: Work with other department heads to integrate nursing education with other healthcare disciplines.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing Education or a related field
  • 5 to 8 years of work experience, including 3 years in a managerial role
  • Active nursing license and relevant certifications
  • Substantial experience in nursing education and administration, including teaching and curriculum development
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements for nursing education programs
