Job Purpose
The Health, Safety, Environment /Occupation & Quality Officer will participate fully in implementing initiatives and programs and ensure that there is full compliance with the HSEQ guidelines, procedures and policies to safeguard the interest of the organisation, its customers/employees and other stakeholders. Ensure that all the policies, Statutory, policies are displayed visibly and communicated to the staff. Spearhead fully the implementation safety management system and ensure that staff are fully aware of and observes the safety golden rules
Summary of Key Duties:

Carrying out Integrated Management System (IMS) Auditing Functions.

Administering web-based system on EHSQ Incidents, Audits, Inspections, Document Control etc.
-
Ensure that monthly emergency drills are conducted at the depot.
-
Ensure that the ERP is updated and reviewed annually.
-
Ensure that the reflex sheets are updated and well displayed at the depot.
-
Administering web-based system on Hazardous Chemical Substance Control.
-
Carrying out EHSQ Incidents Investigations.
-
Coordinating & spearheading the critical Waste Control Portfolio.
-
Ensure that all fire extinguishers are serviced and are in order.
-
Monitor and report the availability of the firefighting equipment of the depot.
-
Monitor condition of the FIRST AID BOX ensure that it is sufficiently stocked.

Monitor condition of the stretcher and ensure that it is in good condition
-
Scheduling Environmental Surveys & Assessments, and Occupational Hygiene Surveys & Assessments.
-
Ensure that HSEQ inspection checklists are completed and properly filed.
-
Ensure that all the pre-use checklists are completed.
-
Ensure that the Corrective Action Data Base is updated on daily basis.

Coordinating fulfilment of the company’s EHSQ Legal Obligations & Liabilities.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications & Experience
-
Grade 12 Certificate
-
Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety related field or Engineering.
-
Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in the implementation & maintenance of EHSQ programme
s.
-
Exposure to Health and Safety for fuel depot operations is a plus
-
Relevant experience in
Safety and a Mining Background will be an added adva
ntage.

Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015; ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards will be a plus
-
Knowledge of MS Office packages and proficiency
-
Experience in incident investigation and report writing.
-
Ability to conduct basic EHSQ Training, EHSQ Induction & Awareness Campaigns etc.
-
Ability to work with minimum supervision
-
Must have a Valid Driver’s License
