Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified and safety-conscious Blaster to join our off-site exploration team in Central Province. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing blasting operations in accordance with regulatory standards and site-specific protocols. This is a field-based role requiring precision, discipline, and a strong commitment to safety and environmental protection.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, load, and detonate explosives for rock fragmentation and excavation
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety procedures
• Interpret blast designs and drill patterns
• Monitor and report on blast outcomes and site conditions
• Maintain accurate records of explosives usage and inventory
• Collaborate with geologists, drillers, and site engineers to optimize blast results
• Ensure proper signage, barricading, and evacuation protocols are followed
• Conduct post-blast inspections and environmental impact assessments

Key Competencies

• Strong understanding of explosives handling and safety protocols
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blast plans
• Proficiency in blast timing and initiation systems
• Familiarity with drilling equipment and terrain analysis
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Effective communication and teamwork in remote environments
• High attention to detail and situational awareness

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Valid Blasting License
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in  mining Operations
• Occupational Health & Safety Certification is an  added advantage
• EIZ Membership or relevant professional body
