Job Description
The purpose of the HSE Coordinator is to promote and implement the BIA HSE policy, Safety culture and HSE system on his perimeter of responsibility.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. General HSE responsibilities
-
Promote occupational health and safety within his organization and develop safer and healthier ways of working.

Make sure that the organization is aware of, and complies with, all legislation in relation to the use of its plant, equipment, substances, as well as in all workplace activities.

Stimulate continuous HSE risk identification, assessment and reduction in daily activities.
-
Help supervise the investigation of accidents and unsafe working conditions, study possible causes and recommend remedial actions.

Cascade Learning from Incidents, best practices, drive consistency and standardize HSE practices in Development Teams according to BIA’s HSE standards.

Coordinate emergency procedures, mine rescues, firefighting and first aid crews

Frequently communicate with management to report on the status of the health and safety strategy and risk management strategy
2. Risk Assessment
-
Maintain and update the hazards identification and risk assessments records.
-
Ensure that the controls in place are coherent, necessary and sufficient.
3. Operational control, certification & training
-
Promote JHA for non-routine activities and unsure they are understood and applied.
-
Identify risks for each step of those non-routine activities.
-
Ensure SOP are done for routine activities and that they are created with the assistance of the technical team.

Participate in the periodical SOPs review.

Train and sensitize all personnel on various SOPs.
-
Ensure the execution of weekly inspections.
-
Ensure our equipment are certified according to legislation and procedures.
-
Monitor HSE level training topics and matrix.
-
Develop and implement training sessions for managers, supervisors and workers on health and safety practices and legislation (in collaboration with the Training manager when applicable)
5. HSE Performance
-
Collect HSE performance
-
Make a daily, weekly & monthly reports on HSE indicators.
6. Incidents, accidents, non-conformity
-
Report incidents / accidents and non-compliance
-
Participate in investigations following accidents, incidents & Propose corrective and preventive actions.
7. 5S Methodology
Ensure implementation of 5S methodology and follow-up:

Increase 5S culture;
-
Communication about improvements;
-
The 5S inspection executed by the person responsible per area;
-
The 5S inspection executed by the manager of site;
-
Monthly audits
-
Monthly report
