HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER: SIMALAHA COMMUNITY CONSERVANCY
Position Title: Human Resources Officer
Reporting to: Conservancy Manager
Duration: Fixed Term Contract
Location: Mwandi, Zambia
Position Overview:
This role of Human Resources officer at Simalaha Community Conservancy (SCC) will involve close
collaboration with various members of the Conservation Management Unit fostering a strong working
relationship. The role will provide professional backstopping support and advice to the human
resources and administration function/department and other parts of the Simalaha Community
Conservancy. In conjunction with the Conservation Management Unit team provide advice on the
interpretation of HR Policies, procedures, guidelines and employee relations issues to staff. Additionally,
the Human Resource Officer will be required to maintain a close and effective working connection with
the Peace Parks Foundation Human Resources and Administration Manager stationed in Livingstone.
Role Responsibilities:
• Development and review of Human Resource policies and procedures.
• Monitors and responds to queries and provides advice, guidance and support to both supervisors
and employees across all aspects of the employee life cycle, escalating to the next level where
appropriate.
• Participates in administering and supporting the implementation of changes or modifications to
Human Resources systems and processes to ensure they are fit for purpose.
• Coordinates the production and alignment of information for the purpose of producing Human
Resources reports and metrics used by the Human Resources team.
• Undertakes auditing of employee files for the purpose of accuracy and correctness against standard
processes, delegations and organisational requirements.
• Ensures consistent and sound records management processes and practices that maintain reliability
and authenticity of file records from their creation, through their effective use, to disposal or
preservation as archives.
• Conduced end to end recruitment process.
• Co-ordinates administration processes for probation reviews, performance development reviews,
employment permits and visas, police clearances and reference checks.
• Participates in organising learning, capacity development and training sessions as required
• Monitors compliance around professional registrations for all staff requiring registrations with
professional bodies.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations, including National Pension Scheme
Authority, National Health Insurance Management Authority, Workers Compensation, as well as
service standards and contractual obligations.
• Coordinates the staff disciplinary and grievance handling procedures when need arises.
• Maintain office management systems, office environment and assets.
Qualifications
• Degree in Human Resources Management or any related field.
• At least 4 years of work experience in a similar role.
• A member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM).
• Experience working with office systems e.g. Microsoft Office, Human Resource Information System
and Enterprise resource systems.
• A demonstrated commitment to enhancing team culture and working environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Remuneration: A competitive salary package will be negotiated, based on qualifications and
