Job Purpose

The Information and Cyber Security Risk Officer will be responsible for assisting in the protection of our organization’s information systems and data from unauthorized access, disclosure, and destruction. Work closely with Risk Management department staff/ IT Department staff to monitor, analyse, and respond to security incidents, as well as implement preventive measures to mitigate identified potential risks.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Monitor security systems and networks for unusual activity or breaches.
Investigate security incidents and perform root cause analysis.
Assist in the tracking of activities to close vulnerability identified in assessments and penetration tests.
Maintain and update documentation related to security procedures and protocols.
Provide support for security awareness training programs.
Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in information and cyber security.

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferable 4+ years of experience in related field of Information Security/Cyber Risk management/IT .
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
Knowledge of networking protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.
Familiarity with common security tools such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and antivirus software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
