EMPLOYMENT ADVERT
Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ) is a statutory body established in 1970 under the Nurses and Midwives Act No. 55 of 1970 with an express mandate to regulate nursing and midwifery training, education and practice. The Act was repealed and replaced by the Nurses & Midwives Act No. 31 of 1997 and Nurses & Midwives Act No. 10 of 2019, which redefined the functions of the Council and expanded the scope of practice for nurses and midwives.
The Council is therefore, inviting applications from highly motivated, result oriented, qualified and experienced persons to fill the positions of:
JOB TITLE: INFORMATIONAL TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
LOCATION: LIVINGSTONE
JOB PURPOSE:
To undertake the design, implementation and maintenance of ICT systems in order to facilitate user access to e-services.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN DUTIES)
a) Undertakes timely the maintenance of ICT systems and infrastructure in order to ensure there interoperability of ICT;
b) Undertakes effectively the design, development, and management of ICT systems in order to support business operations, promote innovations and enhance Eservice delivery;
c) Undertakes regularly the design and installation of the networks, in order to facilitate smooth operation of ICT;
d) Undertakes effectively the configuration, installation and maintenance of server infrastructure in order to facilitate availability of e-services and applications;
e) Undertakes effectively, design, development, and management of database systems in order to ensure highest level of data security, integrity and availability;
f) Undertakes efficiently the provision of ICT Technical support in order to facilitate smooth running of business;
g) Undertakes effectively the provision of on-line services in order to facilitate easy access to information and services;
h) Undertakes effectively the development and review of the disaster recovery plan in order to ensure sustainability of operations;
i) Undertakes effectively the management of the website and portals in order to make information available to the public and facilitate easy excess to e-services; j) Undertakes timely the collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination of ICT statistical data in order to inform decision making; and
k) Undertakes timely development of work plans and implementation of the Annual Performance Appraisal System (APAS) in order to enhance performance.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Report to Information Technology Specialist
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENT
a) Minimum Primary/Secondary Education:
Full Form V or Grade 12 School Certificate.
b) Minimum Vocational/Professional Qualifications:
BSc in Information Technology or equivalent CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
Computer programming qualifications and skills will be an added advantage.
c) Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:
4 years

Able to communicate effectively in English

g) Membership to Information Communication Technology Association Zambia (ICTAZ) added advantage
