The Integrated Bio-Behavioral Survey (IBBS) Lead will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of human behavior and its impact on health outcomes in Zambia. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for research and a commitment to improving public health through evidence-based interventions. The BBS Lead will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of bio-behavioral survey, from design and implementation to data analysis and reporting. This individual will work closely with the teams to ensure the successful execution of survey initiatives aimed at gathering valuable insights into human behaviour and its biological underpinnings.
Duties and Responsibilities

Survey DesignCollaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to design bio-behavioural surveys that address key research questions and objectives
Protocol Development

Develop detailed survey protocols, including sampling strategies, data collection methods, and ethical considerations.
Team Management

Lead a team of survey research assistants, and field staff to ensure the successful implementation of survey protocols.
Training and Capacity Building

Provide training and capacity building support to field staff on survey protocols, data collection techniques, and ethical guidelines.
Data Collection

Oversee the collection of bio-behavioral data in various settings, ensuring adherence to protocol and quality standards.
Data Analysis

Lead the analysis of survey data using appropriate statistical methods and software tools, generating insights and actionable recommendations.
Reporting

Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing survey findings, insights, and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
Quality Assurance

Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of survey data.
Compliance

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, ethical guidelines, and best practices in survey research.
Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation in survey design, data collection, and analysis methodologies.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Demography, social sciences, biomedical or health related sciences

Master’s in public health or Ph.D. degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, social sciences, or a related field
Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing bio-behavioral surveys or related research projects.

Proven experience in designing, implementing, and analyzing bio-behavioral surveys

Prior experience in BBS in Zambia or Southern African region desirable.
Knowledge of local and international ethical guidelines and regulations governing survey research

Strong understanding of survey methodologies, including sampling techniques, questionnaire design, and data collection methods.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders in a multidisciplinary environment.

Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
