VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: MINE SURVEYOR – INTERNS

Lumwana Mining Company is offering an internship Development program to highly committed individuals to gain industrial experience in Mineral Resource Management Team under Survey Section.

Reporting to the Project Surveyor, the role involves supporting the production and projects survey team in performing accurate and timely surveys to assist mining operations under the supervision of experienced surveyors and engineers. The role offers practical experience in mine surveying techniques, exposure to state-of-the-art survey equipment and data processing and analysis providing valuable exposure to the mining industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Conducting accurate and timely open pit surveys daily.
  • Carry out concentrate and coarse stockpile surveys
  • Carry out detail surveys for execution of projects works and surveying of infrastructure as-builts.
  • Set out of all mine design and geological requirements which includes preparation of set out plans for all designated stall to utilize
  • Take part in stockpile surveys on a regular basis for accurate stockpile volumes to be calculated at the end of each month
  • Maintenance of surveying equipment to required standards.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Full Grade Twelve School Certificate
  • Degree in Mine, Geomatic, Land or Engineering Surveying
  • Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambian
  • Knowledge of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) will be an added advantage
  • Must be familiar with safe working practices.
