Job Overview

The Inventory Manager is responsible for Warehouse and Production Management in SAP Business One. The role is in charge of the overall integrity and accuracy of the physical inventory of the company. Key functions include inventory tracking,  reconciliation of full physical inventories and cycle count processes in warehouse locations as well as control of inventory throughout the distribution process. The Inventory Manager has direct supervisor responsibility for Field Inventory Specialist and Inventory Officers. This position requires excellent analytical skills, experience in inventory management and variance analysis and the ability to perform at high levels in a fast- paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Real-time inventory and production Management

  • Manages inventories in warehouses and service centres using serial or batch numbers
  • Record goods receipts and goods issues, and track stock transfers between warehouses and locations in SAP
  • Creates and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) in SAP
  • Performs inventory tracking, and post stock differences by ware- house, item
  • Tacks the production process and move the materials used in the process
  • Ensures that products received in warehouses and transfers out of warehouses are correctly and timeously processed in SAP
  • Ensures product received in service centres are correctly and timeously processed in SAP
  • Ensures that kits handed over to Agents are correctly and timeously processed in SAP.
  • Ensures that all stock movements in warehouses and service centres are processed in SAP
  • Lead efforts to report, manage & dispose of excess & obsolete inventory.
  • Keeps record of slow-moving stock in SAP
  • Supports the design, development, execution and evaluation of innovative strategies to improve overall inventory management in warehouses and service centres

Inventory Reconciliation

  • Processes stock adjustments in SAP
  • Reconciles inventory in SAP on a daily basis
  • Ensures stock reconciliation is done by service centres on a daily basis.
  • Visit warehouses and service centres regularly to interface with staff and ensure that the processes, corrections and stock reconciliations are being done timely and correctly.
  • Checks the trend and reasonableness of stock losses and liaises with Finance for Corrective action.
  • Circulate stock highlights report on total summary stock, variations, stock days and losses.

Loss Prevention

  • Oversees internal controls in the inventory management and this entails ensuring adherence to ENGIE Inventory Management Policy.
  • Visits warehouses/Service Centres regularly to ensure that the processes, corrections and stock reconciliations are being done timely and correctly.
  • Coordinate and attend stock counts including spot stock counts.
  • Carry out a variety of technical and project related process reviews to ensure that significant risks are identified and managed appropriately by ensuring that the laid down procedures are fit for purpose.

Internal Controls

  • Implements inventory management controls in warehouses and all service centres
  • Safeguards inventory by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls in stock management
  • Implements audit recommendations regarding inventory management
  • Ensures Warehouses and service centres adherence to company inventory management procedures

HSSE Agenda

  • Maintain high standards of health, safety and security awareness as per Company regulations.
  • Promote HSSE in the work place by having quality conversations with staff who transgress HSSE best practice
  • During routine work, highlight all non-compliance activities observed in health, safety and security

Required Skills and Experience/ Qualifications :

  • Significant hands-on experience using ERP system
  • Solid understanding of inventory management
  • Ability to prioritize and plan department work activities
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Extraordinary interpersonal skills to work in conjunction with other departments.
  • Must be a team player who also works well independently.
  • Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting, operations or any related field
  • A masters degree in accounting, finance, or full ACCA or any related field
