Irrigation Maintenance Foreman at Mansa Sugar

Job Description

Reporting to the Irrigation Maintenance Foreman, the purpose of the job is to supervise all irrigation equipment repairs and maintenance works on all MSL Farms and coordinate tasking of subordinates.

Key Responsibilities

Management and co-ordination of pump men and pump fitters.
Ensure all irrigation equipment is serviced according to maintenance schedule.
Ensure all repairs are carried out promptly and to the correct quality and standard.
Ensure all pump stations undergo routine maintenance and repair works according to schedules and to the correct quality and standard.
Ensure all pump stations are always kept neat and orderly.
Ensure that pipelines are well maintained for easy access.
Implementing of the Irrigation scheduling program as provided by the Irrigation Foreman.
Submitting of weekly irrigation reports to the Irrigation Foreman.
Submitting of weekly activity reports.
Keeping high productivity of labor through optimal activity tasking according to safe work procedures.
Implementing the Company Safety, Health, Environment and Quality management Policy in the Section.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with 5 credits in English, Math, Sciences, and any other subjects.
Craft Certificate in Water Supply and Operations, Craft Certificate in Agriculture Mechanics or a Diploma in Water / Agricultural Engineering will be added advantage
1 year relevant prior experience required
