Our client in Lusaka is looking for a IT Project Consultant to join their team for a job vacancy within the NGO Industry
   Responsibilities:
   
   The IT services Consultant will work with the project’s Director of Finance, Administration and Capacity Building and other staff to provide the following:
   
   
    1. Network Setup and Management
   
   
   • Internet Connectivity: Ensure stable and secure internet connections, optimizing bandwidth for company needs.
   
   • Network Security: Implement firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure safe remote access for employees working offsite.
  
   
    2. Hardware and Software Procurement and Setup
   
   
   • Hardware Recommendations: Advise on and procure computers, servers, routers, and other necessary equipment, tailored to the company’s needs.
   
   o Running system checks to ascertain hardware health, then service as required
   
   o Assist in the development of SOW/Specifications and Evaluation criteria for IT related procurements
   
   o Participate in evaluation technical committee as part of the procurement process for IT items
   
   o Participate in site visits, vendor subcontractor meetings
   
   • Software Licensing Installation & Configuration: Install, configure and update all the hardware and software, ensuring that workstations and servers are properly set up for employee use.
   
   o Reinstall operating systems on machines if necessary.
   
   • Hardware troubleshooting: including maintenance, repair, liaising with the manufacturer/supplier to order and replace parts under warranty
  
   
    3. IT Support and Troubleshooting
   
   
   • Helpdesk Support: Provide ongoing technical support for employees, addressing issues with hardware, software, email, and network connectivity.
   
   • Remote Support: Implement remote troubleshooting tools to assist employees without the need for on-site visits.
   
   • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly monitor and maintain IT equipment to prevent malfunctions and extend the lifespan of devices.
  
   
    Qualifications:
   
   
   • Minimum of Diploma or HND in ICT or related field with a minimum of 5 years relevant working Experience or BSc Degree in ICT or related field with 2 or more years relevant working experience
   
   • Member of ITCAZ or EIZ
   
   • Experience working with USAID projects and familiarity with USAID regulations is an added advantage
   
   • Must be a Zambian citizen.
