Women Environs Zambia (WEZ) is a dynamic grassroots feminist organization committed to empowering rural women and promoting sustainable environmental stewardship, food sovereignty, and climate justice. With a strong record of transformative community-based advocacy, WEZ is expanding its team to drive forward our mission of justice, equality, and resilience.
We invite passionate, qualified, and self-driven individuals to apply for the following part- time positions based in Chongwe, Zambia:
1. Part-Time Accountant
Location: Lusaka
Type: Part-Time (2 days per week)
Key Responsibilities:
-
Maintain accurate financial records and produce regular financial reports
-
Prepare budgets, expenditure tracking, and financial forecasts
-
Ensure compliance with donor and statutory financial regulations
-
Manage payroll, tax submissions, and statutory obligations (NAPSA, NHIMA, ZRA)
-
Support audits and ensure proper documentation and filing
-
Advise on financial sustainability and risk management
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
-
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in NGO or non-profit accounting
-
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Pastel)
-
Strong knowledge of Zambian financial regulations
-
Membership with ZICA is an added advantage
2. Program Officer – Women’s Seeds & Agroecology
Location: Lusaka with field travel
Type: Part time
Contract: Project Cycle (renewable based on performance)
Key Responsibilities:
-
Lead and coordinate seed sovereignty projects and farmer seed banks
-
Facilitate training on indigenous seeds and agroecological practices
-
Conduct participatory research and document traditional knowledge
-
Strengthen rural women’s leadership in agricultural biodiversity
-
Liaise with local seed networks and policy advocacy platforms
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Development Studies, or related fields
-
At least 2 years of relevant experience, especially in seed systems
-
Familiarity with feminist and ecological justice principles
-
Strong facilitation and report-writing skills
3. Program Officer – Climate Justice
Location: Chongwe with field travel
Type: Part time Contract
Key Responsibilities:
-
Implement community-driven climate action programs
-
Facilitate climate justice campaigns and trainings
-
Engage with national and global climate policy processes
-
Support grassroots climate resilience and adaptation efforts
-
Build alliances with climate justice movements and CSOs
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Degree in Environmental Studies, Climate Change, or relevant field
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in climate-related advocacy or programs
-
Excellent knowledge of climate justice frameworks and local impacts
-
Strong communication, mobilization, and writing skills
4. Program Officer – Gender Equality & Women’s Rights
Location: Lusaka with field travel
Type: Full-Time
Contract: 1 Year (renewable based on performance)
Key Responsibilities:
-
Design and implement programs on gender equality and women’s rights
-
Conduct trainings on feminist leadership and GBV prevention
-
Coordinate advocacy on women’s economic, political, and social rights
-
Support capacity building of rural women’s groups and networks
-
Monitor, evaluate, and report on gender equality program activities
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Development Studies or similar
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in gender-focused programming
-
Demonstrated commitment to feminist values and intersectional justice

Experience in community engagement and participatory methods
