Job Description
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and resourceful individual to join our team as a Junior Manager of Camp Operations. In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for assisting in the management of day-to-day operations at our camp facility. The Junior Manager will work closely with the Camp Operations Manager and other members of the team to ensure the smooth functioning of all camp activities and provide a positive experience for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in overseeing all aspects of camp operations, including registration, scheduling, logistics, and program execution.
2. Support the Camp Operations Manager in coordinating staff recruitment, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
3. Collaborate with the Camp Operations Manager to develop and implement camp policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of guests and staff.
4. Help maintain camp facilities and equipment to ensure they are clean, safe, and properly functioning.
5. Assist in planning and executing camp events, excursions, and other recreational activities.
6. Provide supervision and guidance to camp staff, ensuring they are adhering to established standards and policies.
7. Address guests and staff concerns or conflicts, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
8. Collaborate with the Camp Operations Manager to manage camp budgets and financial resources effectively.
9. Utilize strong organizational and communication skills to create and maintain documentation, reports, and records related to camp operations.
Qualifications:
1.Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Recreation, or a related field is preferred.
2.One to two years of experience in a camp operations or similar role is desirable.
3. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
4. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
5. Knowledge of camp operations, policies, and regulations.
6. Familiarity with recreational activities and programs suitable for a camp environment.
7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the camp season.
9. First Aid and CPR certifications are preferred.
