Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of
Laboratory Sampler

Reporting to the Shift Metallurgist, you will be responsible for conducting various metallurgical laboratory tests and assisting with process sample analyses as directed by the Metallurgist
Duties and responsibility for this position will include but not limited to the following:

Perform flotation test work, screen analysis, and other metallurgical tests on process samples.

Collect Samples, crush, and homogenize ore and slurry samples for testing.

Operate standard lab equipment such as the Lab Jaw Crusher, Rod & Ball Mill, Float Machines, Sieve Shaker, and Cyclo-sizer.

Compile and interpret test results to support metallurgical investigations.

Collect and report hourly ISA assays to the Metallurgist.

Maintain detailed records of samples and test results.

Ensure laboratory equipment is well-maintained, and chemicals are adequately stocked.

Perform daily cleaning of analyzers to prevent blockages.

Conduct weekly calibration of plant Marcy scales.

Safely store liquid nitrogen and refill probes as required.

Monitor and record probe temperatures.
-
Adhere to strict safety procedures and protocols in the laboratory.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the lab
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
-
Full Grade 12 School Certificate
-
Minimum of Diploma in Metallurgy or Mineral Processing
-
Minimum experience of not less than 1 year working in Metallurgical Accounting Team/Metallurgists
-
Must understand sampling & sample handling techniques and preparation
-
Good Knowledge of computers and must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office package which includes excel, power point and word
