VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: NON-PROCESS INFRASTRUCTURE – LEAD CONSTRUCTION

(FIXED TERM)

Lumwana Mining Company Seeks To Recruit a Highly Committed Employee For The Position Of Non-process Infrastructure – Lead Construction (Fixed Term Contract) To Join The Project Team. We Are In Search Of An Individual Who Can Champion Barrick’s DNA By

Reporting to the Project Manager – FS, you will be responsible for leading the construction team, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Lead the construction team, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure successful project execution.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate construction-related risks to ensure project success.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including project sponsors, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure that construction work meets quality standards and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Foster a safety-first culture, ensuring that construction activities are conducted safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage construction budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and minimizing cost overruns.
• Prepare and submit regular project reports, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of construction activities.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate
• Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering or related field
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Construction Management
• Must be a member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
• Proficient in construction management software, such as Primavera, MS Project, or equivalent
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. good written and verbal communication skills and Team skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and good communicator
• Must be familiar with safe working practices.
• Must have a valid Driver’s Licence.
