JOB PURPOSE

To provide support to the Talent Management, and Engagement team while ensuring the effective implementation of all Talent management/engagement activities and initiatives. This role is critical in retaining, and developing high-quality talent to achieve the organization’s strategic objectives.

Additionally, the role holder will provide strategic support to the Learning and Development Head (L&D Head) and implementing employee learning and development programs that meet identified needs, ensuring employees are adequately skilled to deliver on the organization’s strategic goals.

Under the supervision of the Learning & Development Head the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:

Learning & Development:

  • Providing input into the L&D strategy alongside the L&D Head
  • Supporting the L&D Head with implementation of the L&D strategy for the Bank
  • Supporting the L&D Head in identifying Strategic Training and Development requirements in liaison with the various Business Units and departments
  • Extensive liaison with line managers, service providers and the TAME team for all training and development needs
  • Providing support to the L&D Head in the planning and implementation of Bank training and development programmes i.e. training needs analysis/assessment, stake holder research and meetings and ensure adherence to approved training standards
  • Working with the L&D Head to design and deliver e-learning courses, workshops and other trainings
  • Ensuring that training evaluation is conducted to meet the intended training objectives to measure results and ensure continuous improvement
  • Providing input into the development of a comprehensive staff orientation/ induction program
  • Facilitating staff induction as well as other behavioral and technical trainings for which the job holder is capable of and certified (where necessary) to train
  • Preparing and organizing induction packs and sessions for new employees
  • Assisting the L&D Head with the Training& Development budgets
  • Managing training and development costs and ensure that interventions are facilitated within given financial parameters/ budgets
  • Managing Training and Development Service providers and ensure that quality service is provided
  • Preparing and collating weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly MIS HC and L&D reports and other relevant reports as required
  • Organizing/sourcing venues catering and other logistics for all training and development activities
  • Coordinating of learning events: booking employees on workshops/seminars
  • Coordinating all training and development related travel arrangements consisting of transport/flight bookings, accommodation and arranging airport transfers (locally and international) for training participants and facilitators
  • Ensuring that all relevant training materials and learning aids are printed out or made available for training/workshops
  • Capturing and filing all relevant training records for all participants by ensuring sign off of training registers and proper filing
  • Processing of invoices for learning events: collating all relevant documentation and following-through with Finance for all necessary payments
  • Managing the E-Learning platform, generation of reports and assignment of courses to members of staff
  • Assisting the L&D Head in developing and maintaining organizational communications such as to ensure employees have knowledge of learning and development events and resources.

Talent Management:

  • Support strategic talent recruitment processes by formulating vacancy notices and coordinating outreach to candidates.
  • Maintain talent recruitment databases and ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Create and maintain a talent life cycle database which comprehensively gives management a view of employee journeys when identified as talent.
  • Provide advisory support on performance management activities and ensure availability of relevant documentation.
  • Create and maintain talent management platforms to source and track talent.
  • Collaborate with line managers in career development and succession planning discussions.
  • Create and maintain adequate and comprehensive learning pathways for all roles within the Bank.

Staff Engagement:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of staff engagement initiatives.
  • Facilitate staff engagement forums and maintain effective communication channels
  • Develop and manage staff engagement initiatives and communication mechanisms.
  • Organize logistics for staff engagement and change management initiatives.
  • Facilitate teambuilding sessions and town halls.
  • Coordinate the implementation of all stages of the talent management framework providing TAME Head, and other HC heads with a view of progress to be fed into business reporting.
  • Track talent cost.

Reporting:

  • Accurate and timely reporting on training and engagement activities
  • Maintenance of comprehensive training and recruitment records.
  • Availability of training and development plans.
  • Monitor expenditure and provide cost and expenditure reports to TAME Head, and L&D Head for decision making.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with service providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the TAME Head.
  • Any other responsibilities or tasks as maybe assigned by Learning & Development Head.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 Certificate with Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Zambia Qualifications Authority (Zaqa) Verification Certificate for Tertiary Qualifications
  • Minimum Experience: At least five (5) years’ work experience in Human Capital as a generalist.
  • Member of Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM)
  • Good knowledge of and understanding of the Banking industry.
