Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce is the largest Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVET) Institutions under the Ministry of Technology and Science (MOTS). As part of its process to provide quality service to its stakeholders, the institution is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions:

3 SCHOOL OF MEDIA & INFORMATION STUDIES

3.1 LECTURER-PRINT MEDIA

Main Duties

• Teach courses in Print Journalism, News Writing, Feature Writing, Investigative Journalism and Print Layout and Design, among others.
• Guide and mentor students in the development of high-quality print and online publications.
  Effectively co-ordinate the teaching functions of the programme;
• Undertake the delivery of student’s assessment, research supervision, industrial attachment assessment and maintenance of performance records in order to determine effectiveness of the level of lecturing;
• Prepare schemes of work and lesson plans in order to ensure efficient delivery of lectures;
• Prepares teaching aids and lecture materials in order to improve the effectiveness of lectures;

Minimum Qualifications

• Degree in Journalism, Communication, Media Studies, or Public Relations.
• Master’s Degree in Journalism, Communication, Media Studies, or Public Relations will be an added advantage
• At least three (3) years of relevant teaching and/or industry experience.
• Strong practical skills in the relevant area(s) of expertise.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Post-graduate Diploma in Teaching Methodology
