Job Purpose
The Legal Supervisor will support the Head Legal and Company Secretary and undertake legal and compliance matters including drafting contracts, letter addressing to the competent authority, other legal instruments and registration matters for business license/permits/authorization from the relevant authorities and ministries. Assisting in review policies, guideline and procedures for legal compliance and fraud avoidance. Keep up to date law, regulations, economic and legal news related to real estate industry
Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Drafting, peer reviewing and revising contracts and legal instruments including sale purchase agreement, perpetual lease, lease agreement, corporate resolution, as required across the group of companies, to ensure the company’s interests are executed in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.

Conducting due diligence exercise, online search and statuary compliances to mitigate possible risks

Representing the Company in civil lawsuits

Attending to letters of demand and disciplinary hearings
-
Assisting in communicate, coordinate and negotiate with the external parties including regulators, legal counsel, counterparty, lawyer, relevant authorities and ministries.

Researching the law and preparing court documents and attending to filing
-
Attending to alternative dispute resolution
-
Providing legal advisory services, rendering legal opinions and oversight on external lawyers

Attending commercial transactions, negotiations and contract review and drafting
-
Drafting legal documents
-
Collaborating with other department to address legal matters and render legal advice

Participate in the implementation of the departmental strategy

Preparation of reports as may be required from time to time

Preparation of notices, agenda for Management and Board meetings
-
Preparation of minutes and reports for both Management and Board meetings
-
Maintaining applicable legal registers
-
Ensuring Company compliance with applicable law and regulations
-
Be the point of contact and liaise with cross departments of the group of companies
-
Preparing and submitting required applications to obtain permits and licenses as required and in a timely matter.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
-
Degree in Law (LLB)
-
Masters will be an added advantage
-
Must have a
minimum of Minimum 6+ years’ experience post bar admission
-
Must have worked for
Quasi-government, Legal Firm, Insurance Commercial Bank or Telecoms company as Legal Manager, Coordinator or Supervisor.
-
Company secretariat practice will be added advantage
-
Must have a valid Legal Practitioners Certificate
