Job brief

We are looking for a Loan Officer to source, process and undertake first level evaluation of loan applications for personal or business clients. You will act as liaison between customers and our loans institution and you will help qualified applicants acquire loans in a timely manner. The job location is Lusaka.

Responsibilities

• Source and initiate prospective clients or loan customers.
• Evaluate credit worthiness of loan applications and documentation within specified limits
• Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of granting loans
• Determine all applicable ratios and metrics and set up debt repayment plans
• Communicate with clients either to request or to provide information
• Write internal memos to Justify decisions (approvals/rejections) and report on them
• Complete loan and collateral contracts and counsel clients on policies and restrictions
• Operate in compliance with laws and regulations and adhere to lending compliance guidelines

Requirements and skills

• At least 3 years proven working experience as a Loan Officer
• Should be computer literate and experience with loan applications and processing software
• Solid understanding of direct/indirect lending products and practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Customer satisfaction orientation and sales competencies
• Ability to work in a goal oriented environment
• Tertiary qualification in finance, business or a related field
