The Maintenance Manager ensures the efficient operation of the company’s maintenance systems, overseeing preventative maintenance schedules, procurement, and repairs for mechanical and electrical equipment. Based in Lusaka, the role involves occasional travel to camps to support operations and address regional maintenance challenges, requiring a strong understanding of remote working conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance Systems Oversight: Develop and monitor preventative maintenance schedules, ensure accurate record-keeping, and review maintenance logs.
  2. Procurement and Spares Management: Source quotes, collaborate with procurement teams, verify incoming parts, and ensure optimal stock levels.
  3. Repair and Refurbishment Coordination: Oversee repair processes, engage trusted service providers, and maintain a database of artisans for specialized repairs.
  4. Collaboration with Regional Managers: Act as the primary contact for maintenance needs, provide technical support, and address operational challenges in remote areas.
  5. Training and Capacity Building: Train camp and stores teams on spare parts management and preventative maintenance systems.
  6. Travel and Field Support: Conduct periodic visits to camps, assess equipment conditions, and provide on-site maintenance training.
  7. Reporting and Communication: Provide senior leadership with regular updates, detailed maintenance reports, and performance evaluations.
