MANAGER – INTERNAL AUDIT

The Tobacco Board of Zambia (IBZ) was established in 1968 by an Act of Parliament, with the primary mandate being to regulate, promote, protect and facilitate tobacco production and marketing, and to provide guidance to all tobacco stakeholders in the industry through enforcement of the Tobacco Act Number 10 of 2022.

TBZ seeks an experienced Internal Audit Manager to lead its internal audit function. The successful candidate will provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services to ensure TBZ’s operations are controlled, effective, and compliant with regulatory requirements In order to achieve its mandate, TBZ seeks the services of committed, vibrant, innovative, and strategically focused and business oriented Zambian nationals to fill the following vacant position.

JOB TITLE: MANAGER – INTERNAL AUDIT

LOCATION JOB: LUSAKA, ZAMBIA

TYPE: FULL-TIME

REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

KEY OUTPUTS

1. Audit Planning. Develop and implement annual internal audit plans.
2. Audit Execution: Conduct risk assessments, gather evidence, and evaluate internal controls.
3. Audit Reporting Prepare and present clear, concise audit reports.
4. Audit Feedback: Communicate findings and recommendations to client departments.
5. Internal Controls: Implement and monitor corrective actions.
6. Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulations and policies.
7. Investigations: Conduct investigations into suspected fraudulent activities.

8. External Audits: Coordinate external audit activities.

9. Access to Audit Committee: Attend and report to the Audit Committee, ensuring alignment with organizational risk management strategies.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Full Grade 12 School Certificate
Bachelor of Accounting/Finance
Professional Qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ZICA/CA Zambia, CIA, CFE, CISA)
Master’s degree in Accounting, Auditing, Business Administration, or related field (added advantage)
Member of Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)

Experience

At least five (5) years of proven post qualification experience in internal or external audit.
