JOB PURPOSE
The job holder shall be responsible for the overall strategic direction, policy implementation and overall performance of ZSIC General Insurance Limited within the guidelines provided by the Board of Directors.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• As guidedby the Board, lead the organization to develop strategic plans including articulating the vision of organisation and overall strategic direction given
the expectations of the policyholders and shareholders.
• Lead, direct and control the company’s operations in line with its mission and strategic goals.
• Create and maintain a cohesive and motivated workforce for the achievement of the Company’s strategic objectives.
• Prepare timely, concise, relevant and orderly reports presented in formats which enable Directors understand issues and contribute fully to the progress of the business.
• Ensure all business activities and plans comply with approved Company policies and legislative requirements.
• Ensure the development of and maintenance of efficient budgetary and financial management structures.
• Ensure the development and maintenance of sound investment, underwriting, reserve and
accounting policies and practices in line with Board requirements.
• Efficiently and effectively manage stakeholder’s i.e. Government, IDC, clients, members of staff, agents, brokers, regulatory authorities, the public and suppliers.
• Exercise the powers and duties generally exercised by a Managing Director as shall be directed and/or delegated to the job holder by the Board.

• Must be adept at identifying and solving complex problems that arise in the course of
running a business, whether they’re related to operations, finances, or personnel.
• Flexible and adaptable in the face of changing market conditions, technological advancements, and competitive pressures.
• Should have high emotional intelligence to effectively manage relationships, resolve conflicts, and inspire trust and confidence among employees and stakeholders.
• Should foster a culture of innovation within the organization, encouraging creativity and experimentation to drive growth and competitive advantage.
• Must demonstrate integrity, honesty, and ethical behavior in all aspects of their leadership, serving as role model for employees and upholding the company’s reputation and values.
• Should actively engage with industry peers, government officials, investors, and other stakeholders to build relationships, gather market intelligence, and identify
opportunities for collaboration or partnership.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance or Finance or any Business-related discipline
• Minimum Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute
• Masters of Business Administration or its equivalent
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in insurance core business at senior management level
