Reporting to the Senior Mine Trainer, you will be responsible for conducting Excavator and Shovel trainings, assessments, and implementation of a comprehensive training program designed to ensure all Excavator/Shovel Operators are given necessary skills both in the field and simulator environment to achieve excellence in machine operations.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Train and assess Excavator and Shovel Operators.

Actively promote, monitor, and enforce compliance of personnel with safe work practices.

Identifying the risks in their work area and using the correct controls.

Reporting to the Supervisor immediately any actual or potential unsafe conditions or activities, mishaps, incidents, accidents, injuries, or illnesses in the workplace.

Managing equipment, coach and mentor team members to emulate good standards
-
Manage costs through efficient training of employees by providing expertise, resources and services.

Assist in the identification of the training needs and work with the Mining Training Coordinator, Mining Supervisors, and Coordinators to manage and implement relevant training programmes.

Produce highly efficient and productive Excavator and Shovel Operators.

Assisting with incident investigations as and when necessary
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
-
Must have Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
-
Certificate IV in training/Assessor or any other relevant field
-
Significant experience (5 years) operating mining equipment
-
Certificate of competence in Excavators and Shovels
-
Proficient in Microsoft office suit applications
-
Experience in training and development of operators in all technical operational disciplines of open pit mining operations.

Able to clearly demonstrate the aptitude to drive a light vehicle and hold a current Zambian drivers’ license or be able to obtain one.

Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English
