Job Summary:
The monitoring and evaluation coordinator (MEC) will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient monitoring and evaluation of the USAID Zambia Integrated Health (ZIH) project, which aims to improve health outcomes for Zambians by ensuring equitable access to high-quality, client-centered HIV, TB/HIV, MNCH, and family planning/reproductive health services, products, and information. This includes tracking progress towards project targets, collecting and analyzing data, and reporting project results. The MEC will work closely with program teams to identify and address any gaps in project implementation, as well as to identify opportunities for program improvement. Additionally, the MEC will be responsible for ensuring that all project activities are aligned with best practices and international standards for M&E.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement the project M&E plan, including data collection, analysis, and reporting systems, in collaboration with program teams and the MERL officer.

Conduct regular site visits to monitor project implementation and ensure that project activities are on track to meet project goals.

Ensure accurate and timely data collection, analysis, and reporting, including tracking progress towards project targets and providing feedback to program teams.

Ensure that all project activities are in compliance with best practices and international standards for M&E.

Conduct data quality assessments to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

Provide technical assistance to program teams in the design and implementation of M&E activities.

Participate in project reviews, evaluations, and other learning events to ensure continuous project improvement.

Work with program teams to identify areas for improvement in project implementation, and support the development and implementation of strategies to address these gaps.

Prepare and submit regular reports on project progress to the MERL officer, as well as other project stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in public health, demography, development studies epidemiology, statistics, or a related field.

At least 1 year of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in the health sector.

Strong analytical and data management skills, with experience in designing and implementing M&E plans and systems.

Experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, including experience using statistical software such as STATA, SPSS, or R.

Experience in conducting data quality assessments and ensuring data accuracy and completeness.

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to travel to project sites within Zambia.
