Position: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Advisor

Location: Lusaka, Zambia

Start Date: 14 October 2024

Contract Duration: 3.5 days per month from October2024 to June 2026 (74 days)

About Cities and Infrastructure for Growth Zambia (CIGZambia)

CIGZambia is a facility that provides high-quality independent technical advice and assistance to Zambian government bodies and private sector organisations engaged in projects/programmes that help harness the potential of Zambia’s cities and towns to act as drivers for economic growth and job creation. CIGZambia is funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

The overall programme objectives are to:

· increase urban productivity;

· improve inclusive access to urban economic infrastructure services;

· increase investment into urban economic infrastructure services; and,

· enhance national and regional integration between cities.

Current activities underway are focused on transformational support to Zambia’s energy sector.

Overview of the Role

Cities and Infrastructure for Growth Zambia (CIGZambia) is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist to oversee and implement the MEL framework for a well-established programme. Now in its fifth year of implementation, the programme has a fully developed MEL system in place and is entering its final two years. The focus of this role will be on ensuring the smooth oversight and execution of existing MEL activities rather than on designing or developing new frameworks.
