Job Title: Multimedia Designer

Reports to: Marketing and Communications Lead

Terms : Full-time, 24 months (Renewable Contract)

Location: Lusaka (Primary); Hybrid

Job role

To increase the reach and impact of the BongoHive Group’s profile and visibility through the delivery of high-value and influential marketing, communications and PR collateral in Zambia and internationally, thereby significantly contributing to the development of new partnerships and business opportunities.

To achieve this you will work with the Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Technology, and Coworking teams, implementing a marketing and communications strategy across a range of reactive and strategically planned opportunities in print, media, events and online.

You will work with a small communications team to deliver high-quality work and will have an active role in implementing marketing and communication activities for the entire organisation.

In this role, you will work closely with the following various teams across the organisation to support our clients in building products and services their customers love.

Key Responsibilities

Brainstorm and collaborate with business partners and other designers to determine the scope of work and project requirements
Develop multiple visual solutions for any given problem using mixed content such as typography, photography, graphic elements, infographics such as charts & graphs, animations, motion graphics, video, etc. to tell a comprehensive story
Research, gather, and stay up-to-date on the latest visual and story-telling trends to create artwork, animations, and special effects
Use design tools, appropriate software, and various equipment to create engaging graphics, audio, text, and visual effects
Edit content based on the feedback of stakeholders while guiding the overall narrative to be clear and concise
Meeting regularly with stakeholders on the project report and other critical milestones
Handle all design-related logistics like print logistics
Support marketing and all other company departments
Must be able to work autonomously and be able to coordinate production activities, support staff and be accountable for work results.
Must have the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to use ingenuity and creativity to develop and execute multimedia productions.
Demonstrated ability to tell stories through the use of video.
Previous experience shooting, editing, and producing.
Ability to edit photos and videos on a laptop or desktop.
Ability and availability to attend events or perform duties
Must have the ability to travel and attend off-office appointments and events.

Qualifications

Any Design-related qualification
3+ years of relevant experience in Design

Knowledge

Have an excellent understanding of how to use marketing tools and techniques to increase an organisation’s visibility, profile and reputation.
Have a good understanding of social media and the impact technology is having on communications and collaboration.

Skills & Experience

Excellent visual communication skills to present ideas and information in a multimedia context combined with excellent tech skills
Exceptional creative flair and an innovative approach to all design projects
Excellent organisational, time and project management skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
An understanding of the latest trends and their role in a commercial environment
Proven competence in design and image manipulation software
Teamwork skills because most projects require input from individuals with different roles
Self-development skills to keep up to date with fast-changing trends Professional approach to time, costs and deadlines.

Other

There is an expectation that there will be occasional out-of-hours travel and external/internal events.
