Background:
The Food Security through Agri-based and Resilience Market Solutions II (FARMS 2) Project is funded by the Australian government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), through ADRA Australia and implemented by ADRA Zambia, as the local partner for 5 years (2024-2029). The project overall objective aims at empowering 4000 smallholder producers (mostly youths & women) in Nyimba, Petauke, Lusangazi, Mambwe, Sinda and Chipangali, Eastern Province, Zambia, with sustainable economic growth through efficient production, value addition and marketing and community-led built climate resilience.
1. Project Coordinator (01)
Position Overview
The Project coordinator will support overall project delivery across the 6 districts by coordinating the activities working through the district field officers and other support officers. He/she will be responsible for coordination of and reporting project field activities. He/she will work closely with both public and private actors to ensure critical services are provided to the SHF.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Facilitate content development of easy-to-read training modules/IEC materials.
-
Implement and coordinate project activities in target areas not limited to training in climate smart production practices and value chains enhancing, including market linkages.
-
Establish lead farmers (ie., demonstrations plots) to increase uptake of climate -smart technologies – resilience building and environment stewardship etc.
-
Promote efficient service delivery through multisectoral engagements (state and non-state actors)
-
Coordinate district-level meetings with relevant stakeholders and partners.
-
Preparation of progress reports (quarterly, annual, final)
-
Enhance project outputs quality assurance and community feedback mechanisms.
Required Qualification and Experience:
-
A degree in Agribusiness, Rural development, Agronomy, Development studies, or related field with at least 4 years demonstrated relevant field experience in implementation of climate/livelihoods/food security/economic empowerment initiatives.
-
A good understanding and sensitivity to issues associated with poverty, hunger and environment and knowledge of the context to which non-profit organizations operate.

Proven experience, skills/knowledge in Agribusiness, Smallholder Production, Market Systems Approach
-
Demonstrated experience adapting project implementation and activities to achieve targets in a timely manner as needed.
-
Willingness and enthusiasm for working with rural and vulnerable communities in remote areas.
-
Ability to communicate effectively, instilling trust and confidence with SHF and partners.
-
Team player with excellent interpersonal, written, and oral presentation skills.

Proficient in MS word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, electronic mail software
-
Fluency in oral and written English (required) and local languages.

Registered with relevant professional institutions.
Station:
PIU, Petauke, Eastern Province with frequent travel to project sites, including other districts as required.

2. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Assistant (01)
Position Overview
The MEAL assistant will manage the development and implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Systems for the FARMS 2. A strong emphasis is on data collection, integrity, and analysis. He/She will provide technical input during baseline survey study and project reviews, provide leadership for strengthened action research, ensuring standards in monitoring and evaluation processes.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
-
Design and operationalize the project M&E Plan of FARMS 2
-
Collaborate with the project team and MEAL Unit to plan, design and implement assessments, baseline, and evaluations studies.
-
Facilitate coaching and training to districts field staff and partners in using digital tools for data collection and management to deliver the assigned responsibilities efficiently.
-
Setup and maintain an information portal to monitor/tracking indicators and project performance, etc.
-
Coordinate action Research to monitor adoptions and learnings to support evidence documentation.
Required Qualification and Experience:
-
Diploma in Development studies/Related qualification with at least a certificate in M&E, Statistics or equivalent.
-
Minimum of 2 years of direct relevant experience in MEAL and working in NGOs
-
Demonstrated experience in coordinating and working with multiple partners and grants on PME/MEAL.
-
Experience in supporting and monitoring field-based programs in the region.
-
Experience in managing databases and coordinating evaluations, surveys, and impact monitoring

3. Marketing Officer (01)
Position Overview:
The Marketing Officer will be responsible for marketing and promoting the project supported value chains, networking, and managing social media events of the marketing section in the project. Managing and developing marketing campaigns, researching, and analyzing data to identify and define audiences. Conducting promotional and research activities.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
-
Diploma in marketing/public relations or any other related field from a well-recognized institution with at least 2 years working experience.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
-
Marketing and promoting the project promoted produce or crops to markets.
-
Managing and developing marketing campaigns.
-
Researching and analyzing data to identify and define audiences.
-
Conducting promotional activities and ensures that all marketing activities are cost effective.
-
Research and analyses market trends, competitor offerings, demographics, and other information that affects marketing strategies.
-
Uses research findings and analysis to provide direction regarding upcoming marketing of products, new products or services, and overall strategy.
-
Identifies areas for improvement in product offerings, sales tactics, marketing strategy, and promotional activities.

Weighs in on important decisions involving product advertising, packaging, media channels, and branding. Desired skills for a marketing officer

4. Field Officers (06 positions)
Position Overview
The Field Officer’s role is to carry out the day-to-day running of project field activities. S/he will be responsible for implementing activities including community mobilization, training, progress monitoring, providing technical support and reporting on activities in alignment with monthly work plans. The Field Officers will report to the Project Coordinator.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
-
Participate in the farmer mobilization/recruitment with the support of extension staff.
-
Strengthen group governance for improved management of the dairy enterprise.
-
Facilitate local learning events/exchange visits to lead farmers and follower producers.
-
Facilitate farmers training in climate smart farming practices i.e. soil management, agro-ecology, etc.
-
Provide farmer support in value chain management i.e. post-harvest, value addition and packaging.
-
Report on trainings done, follow up support provided and on-farm production.
-
Document success stories, support preparation of progress reports.
-
Represent the project at local stakeholder engagements.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
-
Diploma/Degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or relevant Social Science from a recognized institution with at least 2 years’ relevant field experience.
-
Strong organizational skills
-
Demonstrated written and oral fluency in English and local language in the targeted project areas.

Registered with relevant professional institution (Agricultural Institute of Zambia)

5. Project Driver/Logistics (01)
Position Overview:
The Project Driver/Logistician will be responsible for providing driving services, maintenance and tracking usage of vehicles and motorbikes in the project. S/He shall also be involved with procurements and delivery of goods and documents.
Required Qualifications and Experience:

Valid driver’s license of class C and above.

Has skills to drive manual vehicles and in rough terrain.
-
Minimum driving experience of 4 years with no disqualifications or accident history
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
-
Provides driving services to project staff on duty.
-
Delivers documents and items as instructed by the supervisor.
-
Assists in procurement of goods and services.
-
Ensures all logbooks are updated and tracks usage.
-
Ensures mechanical soundness of the project vehicles and motorbikes, including cleaning.

Ensures vehicles and motorbikes are serviced as the fall due

6. Project Assistant Accountant (01)
Position Overview:
The Project Assistant Accountant will be responsible for FARMS project clerical accounting and record keeping processes and reports to the Finance Manager
Required Qualifications and Experience:

ZICA Licentiate or Diploma or equivalent with active ZICA registration with 1-3 years experience in the NGO sector or related
Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Maintaining Records:
Ensure financial records updated. Handle tasks like recording transactions, preparing donor reports, and reconciling bank statements on monthly basis.

Data Entry:
Ensure accurately enter financial data into databases.
-
Assistance and Support:
Provide support to the accounting department and any other duties assigned.

Compliance:
Ensure statutory obligations are done on time.

Category B Background:
With funding from the Republic of Slovenia Government, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, through ADRA Slovenia and implemented by ADRA Zambia and other partners to deliver an initiative titled “Women Beekeepers as drivers of Positive Change in Zambia” specific focus in Nyamphande Chiefdom, Lusangazi District, Eastern Province. The initiative is being implemented for 28 months (2024-2026). Specific objective: Strengthening sustainable and climate-resilient beekeeping through the empowerment of selected households from the Nyamphande community by 2026, with a focus on training, awareness and (self-employment opportunities for rural women. ADRA seeks to recruit the following:
1. Project Officer (01)
Position Overview:
The Project Officer will be responsible for community mobilization, awareness, trainings/capacity building in production, value addition, marketing, and networking with various stakeholders. The PO will directly be supervised and reports to the Senior Programs Officer.
Required Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma/Degree in either Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science, Rural Development Studies, Adult Education or any other related field from a well-recognized institution with at least 2 years working experience.

Strong organizational skills

Demonstrated written and oral fluency in English and local language in the targeted project areas.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
-
Participate in the Beekeepers mobilization/recruitment with the support of extension staff.

Strengthen group governance for improved management of the beekeeping enterprise.

Facilitate local learning events/exchange visits to lead beekeepers and follower producers.

Facilitate farmers training in climate smart production practices i.e. agroforestry, Beekeeping, etc.

Provide farmer support in value chain management i.e. production, value addition, packaging and marketing.

Report on trainings done, follow up support provided and apiary production.

Document success stories, support preparation of progress reports.

Represent the project at local stakeholder engagements.
