Background
African Parks (AP) is a non-profit conservation organisation that takes on responsibility for the long-term management of protected areas in partnership with governments and local communities. AP manages 23 protected areas in 13 countries covering over 20 million hectares in Angola, Benin, Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, the Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Rwanda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Position Title: Kitchen Porter
Reports to: Commercial Manager
Location: Liuwa Plain National Park (LPNP)
Type of contract: Temporary
Number required: Four
Role and Responsibilities:

Prepare meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for staff.

Ensure the efficient management of the kitchen team’s work equipment
-
Support the chef in identifying the needs of the department and presenting them to the hierarchy.

Ensure the punctuality of the service of the various meals at the scheduled times.
-
Ensure the distribution of meals at the scheduled times.
-
Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen according to the hygiene standards of the organization.
-
Participate in other tasks according to the planning of the Kitchen department (Preparation of coffee, maintenance of the kitchen, etc.)
-
And any other task at the request of the supervisor.

Role and Responsibilities:
The role and responsibilities are wide and varying due to the location and environment. They include, but are not limited to, the following:

Ensuring that all cutlery, crockery, pots, serving utensils, and kitchen equipment are washed thoroughly to provide chefs with clean tools to run the kitchen efficiently.

Cleaning of kitchen floors, walls, surfaces, fridges, and shelves.
-
Washing aprons and kitchen towels.
-
Disposing of kitchen waste, Preparation of game drive morning tea boxes.
-
Assisting chefs with preliminary food preparations and other tasks assigned to you by the head chef.
-
Ensure the kitchen is cleaned before and after use.
-

Position Title: Room attendant
Reports to: Commercial Manager

Role and Responsibilities:
The role and responsibilities are wide and varying due to the location and environment. They include, but are not limited to the following:

Transfer of guest luggage to and from Game viewers at check-in and check-out.
-
To escort guests to their respective tents and give a brief room introduction at check-in, clearly showing light switches, room facilities, and main features of the room.
-
Cleaning and sanitizing guest tents.
-
Making beds according to guest rooming preference and changing linen.
-
Replenishing bathroom amenities.
-
Emptying trash.
-
Ensuring that all maintenance issues in guest tents are reported to the Head Housekeeper and resolved timely manner.
-
Giving wake-up calls to guests in the morning.
-
At check out, you must inspect the room for guest belongings left behind by mistake and report to the Head Room attendant.

Report any damages, missing items to the Head Room attendant.
-
Collect feedback forms and convey to the Head Room attendant.

Role and Responsibilities:
The role and responsibilities are wide and varying due to the location and environment. They include, but are not limited to, the following:
Dining:
-
Greet guests by name with a cheerful and pleasant smile, and pay attention to their needs.

Anticipate guest needs.
-
Taking meal orders and serving hot and cold beverages, and ensuring smooth communication between the kitchen and dining.
-
Table preparations according to the number of guests and meals.
-
Attend to younger guests and guests with special needs.
-
Keeping the main area clean and comfortable for guests and adhering to hygienic camp policies.
Bar:
-
Greet guests by name and create a welcoming atmosphere.
-
Maintain a clean and organized bar area with clean glasses, bar equipment, and a well-stocked bar.
-
You shall record the daily bar stock records sheets accurately.
-
Report all guests’ concerns and complaints to the Head Waiter.
-
Report any breakages or spills to the Head Waiter.
-
