The National Prosecution Authority (NPA) is an autonomous body established by the NPA Act No. 34 of 2010. Its mission is to “provide prosecution services to contribute to a crime free Zambia’. In its quest to improve service delivery, the Authority, is hereby inviting applications from suitable candidates to fill the position of:
1. Senior Human Resource Management and Development Officer (Permanent and Pensionable)
Salary Scale: NPA/03
Number of Positions: Two (2)
Reports to: Assistant Director-Human Resource Management and Development
Duty Station: Kasama and Solwezi
Main Job Purpose:
To supervise the human resources management function in order to enhance staff morale and optimise human resource utilisation.
Specific Duties and Requirements:
-
Supervise and undertake timely and accurate interpretation of rules and regulations in order to enhance adherence;
-
Supervise and undertake timely preparation of payroll inputs in order to facilitate payment of salaries and other allowances;
-
Supervise regularly HIV and AIDS programmes in order to enhance HIV and AIDS awareness;
-
Supervise timely development of individual and departmental work plan in order to monitor and evaluate performance;
-
Supervise timely preparation of training plan in order to facilitate decision making;
-
Supervise effectively human and other resources in order to attain the objectives of the unit;
-
Supervise, periodically, a Training Needs assessment in order to facilitate decision making; and
-
Supervise and undertake regularly monitoring and evaluation in order to facilitate appropriate interventions.
Qualifications and Work Experience
(a) Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or equivalent
(b) Degree in Public Administration or equivalent
(c) Foreign qualifications should be interpreted/graded by Zambia Qualifications Authority
(d) Must have a minimum of 3 years relevant post-qualification experience in human resource or business administration
(e) Should be, at least, an Associate member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management with a valid Practicing License for 2024
(f) Must be a Zambian citizen
(g) Should not be more than 40 years of age at the date of this Advertisement

2. Senior Accountant (Permanent and Pensionable)
Salary Scale: NPA/03
Number of positions: One (1) Position
Reports to: Director Finance
Duty Station: Headquarters, Lusaka
Main Job Purpose:
To coordinate and supervise accounting activities in order to enhance accountability of public funds.
Specific Duties and Requirements:

Coordinate and supervise effectively payroll inputs in order to facilitate payments of salaries and other allowances
-
Coordinate timely and accurately the maintenance of books of accounts in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information
-
Coordinate and supervise and timely banking of revenue collections in order to safeguard funds
-
Supervise effectively preparation of responses to audit queries in order to facilitate decision making
-
Coordinate timely preparation of monthly expenditure statements in order to monitor levels of expenditure
-
Coordinate and supervise timely recoveries of loans and advances in order to facilitate repayments
-
Coordinate and supervise timely development of individual and unit work plans in order to monitor and evaluate performance
-
Supervise effectively the human and other resources in order to attain the objectives of the unit
-
Coordinate timely preparation of financial reports in order to facilitate decision making.
Qualifications and Work Experience
(a) Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent
(b) Bachelor of Accountancy, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
(c) Foreign qualifications should be interpreted/graded by Zambia Qualifications Authority
(d) 3 years relevant post-qualification work experience in Finance
(e) Paid up Member of Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants, valid for 2024
(f) Must be a Zambian citizen
(g) Should not be above 40 years of age at the date of this Advertisement

3. Purchasing and Supplies Officer (Permanent and Pensionable)
Salary Scale: NPA/05
Number of positions: One (1) Position
Reports to: Head Procurement
Duty Station: Headquarters, Lusaka
Main Job Purpose:
To undertake the procurement and supplies of goods, services and works in order to enhance the operations of the Authority
Specific Duties and Requirements
-
Undertake timely storage of goods in order to avoid loss and destruction;
-
Maintain accurately an up-to-date Register of Suppliers in order to establish a reliable supplier base;
-
Prepare and undertake effectively, the provision of secretarial services to the Authority’s Tender Committee to facilitate decision making;
-
Prepare timely and accurate Bidding documents in order to facilitate decision making; and
-
Supervise effectively the procurement of goods, services and works in order to ensure their timely availability.
Qualifications and Work Experience
(a) Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or equivalent
(b) Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing & Supply or its equivalent
(c) Foreign qualifications should be interpreted/graded by Zambia Qualifications Authority
(d) Minimum of 3 years relevant post-qualification work experience
(e) Paid up Member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing & Supply, valid for 2024
(f) Must be familiar with e-GP system
(g) Must be a Zambian citizen
(h) Should not be above 40 years of age at the date of this Advertisement

4. Assistant Director-Administration (Permanent and Pensionable)

Number of Positions: One (1)
Reports to: Director Human Resource and Administration
Duty Station: Headquarters, Lusaka
Main Job Purpose:
To coordinate the provision of administrative support services in order to facilitate efficient and effective operations of the Authority.
Specific Duties and Requirements:

Coordinate effectively the provision of administrative and support services in order to facilitate efficient and effective operations of departments;
-
Coordinate effectively the preparation of bidding documents in order to facilitate Bidding preparations;
-
Coordinate timely preparation of departmental budgets in order to facilitate timely acquisition of monetary resources;
-
Coordinate timely preparation of Cabinet Memo, Statutory instruments and parliamentary responses in order to facilitate decision making;
-
Coordinate effectively the maintenance of buildings and surroundings in order to provide a conducive working environment;
-
Coordinate timely the storage and distribution of goods, services and works in order to ensure availability of resources and workplace safety;
-
Coordinate timely and accurately maintenance of records in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information;
-
Coordinate regularly the identification and protection of disposable goods in order to create space and shelf life;
-
Coordinate timely, development of individual and departmental work plans in order to monitor and evaluate performance; and
-
Supervise effectively human and other resources in order to attain the objectives of the department.
Qualifications and Work Experience
(a) Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or equivalent
(b) Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration or equivalent
(c) Foreign qualifications should be interpreted/graded by Zambia Qualifications Authority
(d) At least eight (8) years of post-qualification work experience in Administration three (3) of which must be at senior management level in a reputable institution.
(e) Must be a Full Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management with a valid Practicing License for 2024.
(f) Must be a Zambian citizen
