Job Description

Palabana University, a public university under the Ministry of Education, is a centre of excellency that provides world-class teaching, research, and innovative services relevant to sustainable agricultural development. The university is affiliated with the Higher Education Authority of Zambia. The University, which is located about 40kms East of Lusaka, now invites applications from suitably qualified Zambians for the following positions;

1. JOB TITLE: SENIOR LECTURER – 2 POSITIONS – (SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT)

PURPOSE: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic and consultancy related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 school certificate or its equivalent;
Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Animal Science or related field; Maser of Science in Animal Science from a reputable university;
PhD in a related field is a must
At least eight (8) years teaching or research experience at a college or university level;
Must have proof of publications; and
Must be computer literate

2. JOB TITLE: LECTURER – POSITION (SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT)

PURPOSE: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic and consultancy related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 school certificate or its equivalent;
Qualification in Animal production
Bachelor in Agriculture Science or related field;
Master of Sciences in Animal Science from a reputable university;
PhD in a related field; an added advantage;
At least four (4) years teaching or research experience at a college or university level;
Must have proof of publications; and
Must be computer literate

3. JOB TITLE: SENIOR LECTURER – 1 POSITION (SCHOOL OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND ICT)

PURPOSE: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic and consultancy related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 school certificate or its equivalent;
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology or related field;
Master of Science in Chemistry and Biology from a reputable university:
PhD in a related field is a must;
At least eight (8) years teaching or research experience at a college or university level;
Must have proof of publications; and
Must be computer literate

4. JOB TITLE: LECTURER – 2 POSITIONS – SCHOOL OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND ICT)

PURPOSE: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic and consultancy related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 school certificate or its equivalent;
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and /Biology:
Master of Sciences in Biology from a reputable university;
PhD in a related field an added advantage;
At least four (4) years teaching or research experience at a college university level;
Must have proof of publications; and
Must t be computer literate

5. JOB TITLE: LECTURER – 1 POSITION -SCHOOL OF NATURAL AND ICT – LECTURER MATHEMATICS

PURPOSE: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic and consultancy related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 school certificate or its equivalent;
Bachelor of Science in Mathrematics;
Master of Sciences in Mathematics from a reputable university;
PhD in a related field an added advantage;
At least four (4) years teaching or research experience at a college or university level;
Must have proof of publications; and
Must t be computer literate and possess a valid driver’s licence

6. JOB TITLE: LECTURER – 1 POSITIONS (SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT)

PURPOSE: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic and consultancy related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 school certificate or its equivalent;
Bachelor of Agricultural Science in Agricultural Economics
Master of Sciences in Agricultural Economics or Entrepreneurship from a reputable university:
PhD in a related field is a must;
At least two (4) years teaching or research experience at a college or university level;
Must have proof of publications; and
Must be computer computer literate and possess a valid driver’s licence

7. ASSISTANT REGISTRAR – ACADEMIC – 1 POSITION

PURPOSE: Responsible for planning, coordinating, providing administration and human resource management services to Management, academic and non-academic communities in the University.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 school certificate or its equivalent;
Bachelor of Public administration or any social sciences;
At least two (2) years working experience at a middle management level;
Must be computer literate and possess a valid driver’s licence

8 ASSISTANT REGISTRAR-ADMINISTRATION – 1 POSITION

PURPOSE: Responsible for planning, coordinating, providing administration and human resource management services to Management, academic and non-academic communities in the University.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 school certificate or its equivalent;
Bachelor of Public administration or any social sciences;
At least two (2) years working experience at a middle management level;
Must be computer literate and possess a valid driver’s licence.

9. MANAGER – PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLIES

PURPOSE: Responsible for planning, organizing and supervising the procurement functions for the University in compliance with Zambian Public Procurement Laws and international procurement regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 school certificate or its equivalent;
Professional Diploma (CIPS) or Degree in Procurement and Supply.
Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or in a related field will be an added advantagethree (3) years practical experience in a similar or related position and should
Member of Zambia Institute and Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).
Must be computer literate and possess a valid driver’s licence

10. MANAGER-ICT

PURPOSE: Responsible for planning, leading, and overseeing the design, development, installation, management, and maintenance of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems within the University. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of ICT systems and services throughout the institution

QUALIFICATIONS

Grade 12 School certificate or its equivalent.
Vocational/Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an ICT related field
Master’s Degree in an ICT related field
Seven (7) years relevant work experience of which three (3) years must be at middle management level.

11. ACCOUNTANT

PURPOSE: Responsible for budgeting, coordinating and implementation of financial reporting activities and other accounting functions in the School/University.

QUALIFICATIONS

Grade 12 School certificate or its equivalent.
Vocational/Professional Qualifications:
Bachelors in Accountancy:
ACCA/CIMA/ZICA or its equivalent and practicing member of ZICA
Master’s related field is an added advantage
Minimum of 4 years working experience in accounts and a track record in management accounting at senior level.

12. INTERNAL AUDITOR

PURPOSE: Responsible for budgeting, coordinating and implementation of financial reporting activities and other accounting functions in the University

QUALIFICATIONS

Grade 12 School certificate or its equivalent
Vocational/Professional Qualifications
Bachelors in Accountancy
ACCA/CIMA/ZICA or its equivalent and practicing member of ZICA
Bachelors of Business Administration
Master’s related field is an added advantage
Minimum of 4 years working experience in accounts and a track record in management accounting at senior level.
