Wuchi Wami, established in 2018, is a private limited company dedicated to sustainable beekeeping and the processing of organic honey and beeswax. Working with over 1,244 smallholder farmers and managing 5,020 beehives, we produce more than 125 tons of organic honey annually. Our mission is to empower rural communities, promote sustainable livelihoods, and conserve forests in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Innovation Against Poverty (IAP) project supports our efforts to scale up sustainable beekeeping, strengthen farmer networks, and improve rural incomes while protecting forests.
We are looking for
two (2)
Field Officers under the Innovation Against Poverty (IAP) project:

1 Field Officer based in Mwinilunga (Mwinilunga District)

1 Field Officer based in Kelongwa (Kasempa District)
The Field Officers will work directly with smallholder farmers to provide training, technical support, and field monitoring of beekeeping activities. The role requires someone passionate about agriculture, rural development, and working with communities.
Key Responsibilities
-
Train and mentor smallholder farmers in sustainable beekeeping practices.

Conduct regular field visits to monitor beehives, honey production, and farmer compliance.

Support the distribution of beekeeping equipment and inputs.
-
Collect, verify, and report field data for monitoring and evaluation.

Mobilize farmers for training sessions, cooperative meetings, and project activities.

Ensure adherence to quality and organic certification standards.
-
Provide feedback from farmers to management to improve project delivery.
Requirements
-
Grade 12 certificate
-
Diploma Agriculture, Agribusiness, Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field will be an added advantage.

Minimum 1 years’ experience working with rural communities or in agriculture projects (beekeeping experience is an added advantage).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to ride a motorbike and willingness to travel frequently to rural areas (valid motorbike license is a strong advantage).

Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel) and report writing ability.

: Project Accountant

The Project Accountant will manage the financial aspects of donor-funded and internal projects at Wuchi Wami, ensuring proper budget utilization, compliance with funding requirements, accurate reporting, and accountability. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, field officers, and the finance team to track project costs, monitor expenditures, and provide financial insights for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Project Financial Management

Maintain accurate financial records for all project activities.

Monitor project budgets and ensure expenditures are within approved limits.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual project financial reports for management and donors.
-
Track and reconcile project-related payments, grants, and disbursements.
Budgeting & Reporting
-
Assist in project proposal budget development in collaboration with project managers.
-
Track budget utilization and highlight variances against planned activities.
-
Provide financial forecasts and cash flow projections for project operations.

Support donor compliance through timely and accurate financial reporting.
Compliance & Audit
-
Ensure project financial practices adhere to Wuchi Wami policies, donor regulations, and statutory requirements.

Prepare supporting documentation for external and internal audits.

Monitor grant agreements and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Operational Support
-
Manage payments for project activities (farmer training, field expenses, logistics, etc.).
-
Track inventory and assets purchased under specific projects.

Support procurement by verifying supplier invoices against contracts and delivery notes.

Liaise with field officers to ensure accurate documentation of farmer payments and inputs distribution.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
-
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in project accounting or grant management.

Strong knowledge of donor financial reporting and compliance (NGO/Development sector experience is an advantage).

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, or pastel).

Strong Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
-
Knowledge of Zambian tax laws and statutory filings.

We are seeking a Project Manager to be stationed in Mwinilunga to oversee beekeeping and sustainability projects in the region. The Project Manager will coordinate with field officers, farmers, and cooperative leaders to ensure smooth project implementation, farmer training, and quality honey production. The role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and the ability to work effectively with rural communities.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee implementation of beekeeping and community development projects in Mwinilunga.

Manage and support field officers, ensuring effective farmer training and supervision.

Monitor project progress, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with company goals.

Liaise with smallholder farmers and cooperative members to ensure consistent honey supply and compliance with organic standards.
