Brief Project Background – Comprehensive Bilateral Anti- Trafficking program
The Government of the Republic of Zambia and the United States have concluded a Bilateral Partnership to combat Trafficking in Persons. This multi-year commitment will strengthen the efforts of both the Zambian government and civil society organizations to effectively respond to Trafficking in Persons in particular implementing interventions on prevention, protection, prosecution and partnership. The programme aims to: Prevent human trafficking by addressing root causes and vulnerabilities, protect victims by ensuring access to high-quality, trauma-informed care, prosecute traffickers and hold them accountable through effective investigations and convictions while strengthening the justice system’s capacity to address human trafficking and establish and strengthen Partnerships, co-operations and co-ordinations that flourish across sectors and actors involved in anti-human trafficking.

Shelter Manager
–

Reporting to: Project Coordinator
Roles and Responsibility
-
Supervise the shelter staff to deliver consistent and high-quality shelter services.
-
Provide services that are high quality, consistent, and in accordance with the YWCA Shelter House mission, vision, and values.
-
Manage client records, files, and reports to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and security of files.
-
Oversee and maintain the daily operations of the shelter.
-
Work with a team of House Managers to ensure all emergency and housing programs are working together to achieve high-level outcomes.
-
Ensure a trauma-informed workplace is achieved and maintained demonstrating a balance of kindness, competence and care toward self, others with whom we work, and those for whom we provide care.

Write monthly statistical reports and submit to the Programmes Manager
-
Facilitate discharge of shelter clients in liaison with the Programmes Manager, Police, Social Welfare, Immigration and other interested stakeholders.

Follow up on the cases with the referring institution/ NGO
-
Accompany clients to courts, Hospitals, Police stations and any other places as may be dictated by the cases
Desired Qualifications:
-
Degree in development studies or other social sciences, a degree in Gender Studies will be desirable

Diploma in psychosocial counselling is a must , a degree will be an added advantage

Practical experience in Gender, human rights and development contexts
-
At least three (3) years of experience working in a related field

Experience in working with CSOs/NGOs

Fluency in written and spoken English

Experience working for an international non-government organization is an advantage

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

2. House Manager – x 2
Reporting to: Project Coordinator
Roles and Responsibility
-
Provide services that are high quality, consistent, and in accordance with the Shelter House mission and vision.

Changeover information, client messages, and staff log.
-
Oversee and maintain the daily operations of the Shelter House facility.
-
Facilitation, implementation and monitoring of the shelters day-to-day activities
-
Thorough house checks of both the interior and exterior are performed every two hours
-

Management of Intake and exit client information.

Ensures shelter rules and procedures are adhered to.

Provides First Aid to clients in the shelter.
Desired Qualifications :

Diploma in Psychosocial Counselling – Degree will be an added advantage

At least three (3) years of experience working in a related field

Experience in working with CSOs/NGOs

3. Shelter Counselors –x
Reporting to: Shelter Manager
Roles and Responsibility
-
Provide 24-hour psychosocial counseling to shelter clients
-
Administration of drugs to clients
-
Accompany client to clinics, court, social welfare department, police stations and other stakeholders as may be required
-
Check on client’s welfare on a daily basis and record the mood of each client daily.
-
Handovers of client daily observation report.
-
Do not cause harm to any client.
-
Ensure that clients do not harm each other.
-
Provide routine counseling for each client as and when needed.
-
Ensure that clients are kept active in the shelter by engaging them in various activities.
-
Ensure that all clients have their accessories securely kept upon entry into the shelter and given back upon discharge from the shelter
Abide by the Code of Conduct and ethics of counselling provided by the organization.

Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

4. Shelter Cleaner –x 1
Reporting to: Shelter Manager
Roles and Responsibility
-
Performing a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, and washing.
-
Perform all housekeeping duties assigned by the Shelter Manager i.e. sweeping, cleaning, and washing beddings of the shelter.
-
Keep all areas clean and tidy at all times, including but not limited to mopping floors, dusting surfaces, vacuuming carpets, cleaning windows, and washing dishes
-
Organize storage areas such as closets and cupboards, keeping them neat and free of clutter
-
Prepare meals as directed, by the shelter manager and other instructions to the latter
-
Stocktaking of food at the Shelter
-
Serve food and drinks to shelter clients in a professional and courteous manner
-
Handle all cleaning supplies and equipment with extreme caution, using only as directed and never mixing different products together
-
Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Shelter Manager immediately
-
Respect the privacy of our clients and maintain strict confidentiality regarding the Shelter’s affairs
-
Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Desired Qualifications and Competencies :

Grade Twelve Certificate
-
Qualification in hospitality is an added advantage.

5. GARDNER–x1
Reporting to: Shelter Manager
Roles and Responsibility
-
Cleans surroundings and cuts grass.
-
Plants, water and trim trees, shrubs, and flowers around the Shelter.
-
Replaces dead plants and discards waste matter in a neat and orderly manner.
-
Picks up and discards any litter found in the gardens.
-
Applies Manure to the lawns and flower beds.
-
Maintain all gardening /cleaning equipment and machinery
-
Responsible for ensuring that sufficient cleaning materials are on hand
-
Responsible for the assets in your care; report any asset movement, loss or damage to the shelter manager
-
Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Maintain play park and its equipment and ensure that they are well maintained

6. SECURITY GUARD –x 2
Reporting to: Shelter Manager
Roles and Responsibility
-
Ensure YWCA property and individual property is protected.
-
No unauthorized entry into the shelter
-
Ensure that all records and registers for security inquiries are updated, visitors and drivers sign the log book, and ensure the log book is kept properly and secure.
-
Coordinate and communicate effectively to the Shelter Manager on all matters related to theft and emergencies reported
-
Report immediately all incidents that occur during day or night shifts to the Shelter Manager.
-
Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Desired Qualifications and competences:

Grade 12 Certificate

At least three (3) years of experience working in a related field
